"Many sweetened e-cigarettes list ingredients such as sugar, caramel and honey in the liquid nicotine, researchers note in the journal Tobacco Control"

NO, Actually No eliquids on the market "list ingredients such as sugar, caramel and honey" but these "tobacco control experts" are so fucking stupid that they mistook the flavor profile as the ingredient list.

They didn't buy any eliquid with sugar, caramel and honey in it because if they tried they would have been unable to find any.

Instead they MADE THEIR OWN eliquid that had unvapable sugar, caramel and honey in it so they could vaporize it and scare people with the results.

These people are either really fucking stupid OR they think YOU are really fucking stupid.

You decide which - 5150

The "study"

http://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/early/2016/10/25/tobaccocontrol-2016-053220.long

Liquid preparation
E-liquid of 70/30 PG/VG ratio was used because it is commonly found in ECIG products. Stock solutions of sucrose, glucose and sorbitol in distilled water were prepared with 345, 442 and 243 (mg/mL) concentrations, respectively. Subsequently, 0.5 mL of each stock solution was added to 10 mL of the PG/VG mixture. The percentage of sugar in the prepared liquids (1.01–1.91 wt% equivalent to 11–21 mg/mL) was chosen to be in the range of commercially reported concentrations (1–4 wt%).28 Four concentrations of 0.03, 0.25, 0.63, 1.23 wt% were prepared and sonicated for 2 hours to ensure homogeneity.

The "Evidence"

Every vaper that reads this understands this is NOT the fucking ingredients of the eliquid.
If they just had one person who vaped that could watch over these studies....

Shit, I'd to it for free to get them to stop doing stupid shit like vaping CE4's at 6 volts for 8 second puffs among other stupid shit (like above)

Of course this data is now making its way around to all ANTZ club members, to be used as "further evidence of the dangers of vapor products".

In the list of "researchers" for this paper, it names one of them as the contact point (click on the names to see contact info). Email suggesting they come here has been sent

In case they do come over here, here's a sample of what's in an ecig

HICs Homevape Cheesecake recipe (plain filling, no crust and no diketones)
(use at 6% or reduce to 3-4% if used with a toppings flavor)

2% FlavourArt brand Vienna Cream flavoring
2% FlavourArt brand Catalan Cream flavoring
1% FlavourArt brand Custard flavoring
0.75% The Flavor Apprentice brand Acetyl Pyrazine
0.5% FlavourArt brand Caramel flavoring

Source: http://vapingunderground.com/index.php?threads/1952/

Those flavorings do not contain actual caramel, actual cream, nor actual custard. They are artificial, chemical concoctions designed to simulate the flavors.

I wonder just how quickly and how badly those "sweetened" liquids gunked up their wicks and coils, and how much that gunkage is responsible for the "variances" in the results that they mention?
