Sony Computer Entertainment has every intention of expanding the PlayStation ecosystem, and to do so, the company plans to broaden its appeal to casual consumers.
During its annual Investor Relations Day, Sony revealed its strategy for growing its gaming division, in which the company plans to "acquire causal users while further strengthening the engagement of core gamers through relevant title offerings."
This isn't the first time Sony has mentioned the casual consumer as a target for growth, as late last year PlayStation UK managing director Fergal Gara noted that the company needs "to have the kind of product that will engage the more casual consumer."
