Warning: This article contains spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home!

The complete script for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been officially released online.

Written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the full script for the recent Spider-Man sequel outlines all the action from one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The script was released by Deadline as part of its Read the Screenplay series, and reveals what Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were originally called…

Tobey Maguire is referred to as “Raimi-Verse Peter” or “Raimi-Verse Spider-Man” throughout, while Andrew Garfield was “Webb-Verse Peter” or “Webb-Verse Spider-Man”.

Of course, in the movie, the Spider-Men come up with their own solution to differentiate themselves, with Tom Holland known as “Peter 1”, Tobey Maguire as “Peter 2”, and Andrew Garfield as “Peter 3”.

It’s certainly interesting that the No Way Home script so openly refers to the different versions of Spider-Man that would appear in the movie.

After all, Marvel is known for its tight security around sets and scripts, with some actors not even given access to the full script during shooting. At the very least, the script is titled "Serenity Now", seemingly to keep the true movie unknown.

It’s certainly possible that nicknames or decoy names were used throughout the shooting scripts to keep things under wraps. But thankfully, the full script is a lot clearer, and it paints an impressive picture of what would eventually unfold on screen as the three big-screen Spider-Verses collide.

Although the multiverse crossover was originally intended to be a post-credit scene, the movie eventually evolved to bring “Raimi-Verse Spider-Man” and “Webb-Verse Spider-Man” into the action in a big way. Unfortunately, it looks as though it lost Mysterio in the process, but Andrew Garfield enjoyed returning so much, that he has since said he would love to play Spider-Man once again.

Spider-Man: No Way Home stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, along with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their own versions of Spider-Man. They’re joined by Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jon Favreau.
