Square Enix Profits Double Thanks to MMO and Mobile Titles

Square Enix has released its full year financial report for the 12 months ending March 31, 2015, revealing a net profit increase of 49 percent despite no major console releases in the period.

The company earned ¥167.9 billion ($1.4 billion) in revenue, which was up 8.3 percent year-on-year. As for the titles responsible for the improved fortunes, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn once again proves its worth as it continues to bring in the cash, while mobile titles Dragon Quest Monsters Super Light and Final Fantasy Record Keeper also helped raise its fortunes.

The Japanese publisher openly acknowledged its absence from the console space in the last year, though this looks set to change with its E3 2015 press conference. Already we know about Final Fantasy XV, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Just Cause 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider coming sometime in the future, and Final Fantasy XIV's first expansion is likely to keep it performing strongly.#
