Squonk mods for non-squonkers

Stupid questions from a non-squonker.

Q1. Can you use a squonk mod as a regular mod?

Q2. Are 510 pins in squonk mods usually spring loaded?

I ask because I'm thinking about getting a Sigelei Fuchai 213 Squonk mod for cheap because it takes 21700/ 20700/18650 and because it has a door to cover the bottle area.

But the pics I see look like the 510 pin is more recessed than on regular mods and I could not find anything about having a spring on the 510.

Yes you can use a squonk mod as a regular mod.

Unless it's a mech mod it will be spring loaded 99% of the time nowadays. The mod you're looking at has a spring loaded 510 and will work fine with a tank on the top.

Saw a post on FT were someone said...

The 510 on this mod is self-adjusting but the range of adjustment is not huge. Most RDAs should work if their 510 pin doesn't stick out too far. I had one that left a gap under the RDA because the bf 510 screw head stuck out too far. I have not had one be too short of those that I have tried.

Well as it turns out, the 510 pin on this mod is not be spring loaded. Also, it won't fire a tank or RDA (other than the RDA it came with) unless it happens to have a protruding 510 pin as the 510 pin on the mod is much further down in the 510 than usual. It has to protrude about 2 mm or so.

Luckily I have many 510 heat sinks with adjustable pins that allow me to use this mod as a non-squonker, so it's all good.
