SS Griffin, JFC extremely loose.

Hi everyone, hope you are all doing OK.

I purchased a Geekvape Griffin in SS for my partner to go along with a cuboid in February, as I had the Griffin myself and she liked it, so got one in SS, as mine is black not to get confused.

The thing is, it has now developed an issue-the Juice flow control spins freely, with no resistance at all. Simply moving the mod is enough to open/shut the juice flow.

My black Griffin does not suffer from this, and the Griffin had become her go to tank. A crius is now being used, but I really would like to get the Griffin back to its former glory so it can be used as it once was.

I can't seem to find a way to actually add resistance to the JFC, on my one there is about as much force needed as on my crius's, so just about right.

It would be very helpful if anyone else has had this issue, and managed to fix it, as the griffin is a very nice tank, and it is a shame that it is not being used.

OK-I have actually sorted this, thanks to reddit, and a UK forum member:).

If you take the tank apart, then get a mallet (Seriously), then whack straight down on top of the two posts a few times, it becomes tight again.

Seems like sometimes hitting things is the way to fix them lol.

It would be a better idea to put the deck in a vice and find a nut or something similar thats just big enough to fit around the deck.. then press fit. Hard to explain but you could damage the grub screw sockets or have your grubs screws get stuck and strip if they become compressed. Ask me how i know. Lol

That's what I dislike about my two Griffins I bought. The JFC is loose OOB. Good to know that it can be fixed though. Thanks for the info!

@Neunerball, I can't take the credit, it was actually a poster on Reddit that come up with the solution, but I am glad it will be of benefit to you.

@ej1024, have you done the fix? If so, I am really happy your griffin is back to it's former glory. Fantastic tanks, it is a shame this seems to be a fairly common problem though, but at least we can sort it out ourselves quite easily :).

It probably would be a better idea to do it this way, unfortunately I don't own a vice :(. I thought this fix worked by widening the posts/deck slightly, making it tighter, not by compression, as would this not make it looser?

And I guess you know by doing it yourself lol? If it is that way, sorry to hear that, it does annoy you when you damage an item.

Did you remove the 510 pin prior to "smacking" it?
I know this was in reply to @ej1024 , but I did remove the 510 pin prior to giving it a good whack. I don't know if it will make a difference to the outcome, but following the reddit thread-the one you linked too, I did just in case. It worked well :).
