SS, Ti, Ni? Want to try TC.

I got a new mod today. On my old one it had temperature control and I only started messing with it yesterday. I found I liked it better than straight up wattage mode. The coils on my old mod were SS. Said right on the box. I can't seem to find what kind of wire is used in my new Blazer Pro by Sense. Anyone help me out??

Doesn't say on the box, nor on the site I bought them from...

I am pretty sure the Blazer pro uses kanthal coils so not TC able. Most of the high powered tanks are kanthal.

Frak. That's what I was worried about. Well, this shouldn't be an issue after I drop my nic. Thanks for the fast reply!

Does that also explain the slight ramp up? The kanthal?? The first toot I take is very cool. The second toot it starts vaping more consistent from there out until i put it down for a lil while.

Ramp up time on high powered tanks is usually slow on the first hit. These high powered coils need a little time to get up unless you start off really high or have a mod with preheat.

That's why you see some reviewers blow out on the first hit to heat up the coil then there next hit is primed.

The blazer pro does indeed have 316L coils. Do you have the .3's? If so, you can certainly use them in TC. What mod are you using ?

This is what I saw in the specs for the .3 coils. If they changed it then that would be cool.

I forgot about the preheat option. It's at normal now. I'ma try turning it up to hard and see how that goes.

It is not really possible to do it in the traditional TC way with kanthal and nichrome. Kanthal is a metal that is stable at higher temps. Conventional TC requires a predictable change in resistance as the metal heats up which nickel, ti and SS provide.

The Hohmtech mods do a different form of TC which is user adjustable and have modes to TC kanthal and nickel. It is a different approach though and is more user dependent than conventional TC.
