Stainless steel or kanthal wire?

Looking at getting some wire to start building coils and wanting and was wanting ss wire but was just wondering which wire is better to get and why thx

I always used Kanthal A1 but now I have SS316L in 22, 24, 26, 28 ;30 and 32 all in 100 ft rolls. That pretty much all I use now for voltage/watts. It works for TC also if your mod has SS profile. I find coils do not seem to gunk up as quick as Kanthal. It is a little thinner and lower ohms wire than Kanthal. Just like SS better. CHEERS!

So can I use ss wire in not temp mode? Also what's best ohm to run for flavor and what gauge to use?

I say Kanthal to start with. Some 26g Kanthal is probably the best starter, it's a nice middle ground. Want lower resistance try twisting it (it'll increase ramp up time but also prevent scorching). Kanthal is the standard for a reason. I also use mainly SS but I still feel one should start with Kanthal and move on from there. SS with simple builds simply perform to more extremes than Kanthal. It's amazing how fast 100ft of wire will disappear, so trust me when I say play with that to start and then make some choices on what you like/dislike about it and get an educated decision from there.

As for resistance and flavor, there's no right answer. A nice dense vapor is what's key, you can do that at any resistance depending on different factors.
