So, the Uwell Crown has stainless steel coils with a recommended wattage range. So why do some tc mods offer a stainless steel setting?
Fairly new to temperature control, but I thought power and tc were mutually exclusive.
What gives?
Any and all feedback is appreciated

nope SS can go either way. I use it in wattage mode but have used it in temp control. That is the beauty of SS :)

Crown SS 0.5's in TC with "darker" flavors and VW with "brighter" (citrus, fruity, etc.). Always nice that it can go either way.

I use the SS coils in my Herakles Plus because the Kanthal coils are 0.4 ohm and I prefer the 0.2 ohm that the SS coils are. Havent noticed any real problems using the SS. I am getting some gurgling and spitback, but I cant be sure that the SS is causing that since its all Ive used so far in the tank.

Be careful here, Uwell Crown's so called stainless steel coils are not intended for tc, only Ni200 is.
But, on the other hand, usually you can use "SS wires" on tc mode with mods that offer such an option or you can go vw or power mode if you prefer.
I've learnt that the hard way.

Many people are vaping the crown ss coils in TC mode. That said, I prefer them in power mode!

I use the Crown SS coils in SS TC mode on my VTC Mini, works great, amazing flavor and vapor production.
Run the .25 at 550f, run the .5 at 520f, both at 40W.

I use the same builds in both power or TC depending on the mod I'm using at the moment. I love having one wire I can use in both modes.

that's the beauty of SS- no reason to have one set of attys with a tc build, and, another set with a power build

thing is SS is still relatively new to the tc scene, but it was used for vaping before Kanthal, from what I was told.
so long as your mod is tuned for whatever grade of stainless you are using or if you can load in the TCR you're good to go with temp limiting.

I am wattage all day, but I hear longevity comes from Tempcontrol.

depends on the board, in some cases that is very true; but, not a rule of thumb.
