well for battery life you need to make some decisions
the first decision are you in this for the long run.
some people switch to vaping and use it to quit smoking and after a few months of not smoking stop vaping period.
if this is you - then dont invest to heavily. find something you like by a second one of it so you always have a battery
if you forsee yourself vaping for a long time to come, then you have 2 options for battery life
1.built in batteries - like yours
2. replaceable batteries
whats the difference?
well any rechargable battery has a life span. its easiest to talk about it in charge cycles - or how many times you charge it.
most mods with a built in battery will last you 200-300 charges before they just dont hold much if any charge
after the first 100 charges though you will start noticing that the battery doesnt seem to last as long.
so for someone like me - i was replacing batteries about every 3-4 months which meant replacing the whole mod- which at a cost of 25-40 a mod that adds up. but still cheaper then smoking
a mod that uses replaceable batteries, usually referred to as 18650s or in some cases 26650s. uses batteries that pop in and out just like AAs. But these batteries are slightly bigger then AAs and you need a good high quality charger to charge them. These batteries still go bad after so many charges and you need to replace them. But you can pick up QUALITY batteries for about $6-8 a piece..
I have personally just switche dto using these style of mods myself, and to get the FANCIEST mod on the market you normally could only get them in this style of a mod with replacable batteries
Next up in understanding battery life. MAH
mah means milli amp hours. Its a way of measuring how much power the battery stores.
most devices that have a built in battery will say how many mah it is. little egos or pen style batteries are usually 900-1400 mah
bigger box mods with built in batteries go form about 2000mah - 5000 mah
how many mah do you need to get through a day?
I have no clue
it varies depending on how much you vape, the wattage you use etc. the higher teh wattage you use and the more you vape means more mah
A heavy vaper like myself can easily use 5000mah worth of battery in a day. some can use even more, some much less.
so you need to kinda figure that out on your own
if your device can get you form morning to bed with out a recharge your good, find out its mah and you need at least that much. if your recharging your device through out the day count the number of recharges to figure out how many mah you go through in a day and decide to either get a device with more mah or a second one of what you have.
if you decide to go with a replaceable battery mod, then buy a few extra batteries.
most mods use either 1 or 2 batteries. so if you find that one set of batteries last you all day i would buy a second set JUST IN CASE, and keep them charged and with you when you leave the house. if you find you need 2 sets of batteries to get through the day, buy a third set JUST IN CASE.
Now just because you get a mod that has replaceable batteries does not mean you will never replace the mod. Many good quality mods can be had for $40-80 nowadays. And most of them can last with regular use for a year or 2. but electronics do fail eventual, battery clips wear out in rare occasions, and accidents happen. plus there's always the " oh wow that mod is cool I have to have it" syndrome.
in terms of TC.
do your research first. try to find a store near you that can help you with it. It is very easy when you get the hang of it, it can be awesome to avoid burnt hits which is why i use it. but it can also be a PITA to figure out by yourself at first.
