Thoughts?

That I'll have one once the price comes down a bit.
It ticks most modern boxes, and addresses most all the current owners requests.

Oh... and that my other RTAs have kept me occupied and it's time to rewick my own 'Mizer and get it back in the rotation. :p

Yeah, 50 bucks is a little steep. $35? Yup, I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

Just about what I was thinking.
I think my RDTA was just under $30 about 5 weeks or so ago.
Maybe $32-ish... honestly don't recall precisely.

But I've never paid more for a tank or dripper... won't start now.

Oddly... I may get the new 75w Kanger TC box. Even though I don't care for the looks.
Why? Because for $50 it comes with the new top fill Mini & RBA.
I've never had an STM (Nano and unused V1) so why not. :D

But 50, 70 bucks for a topper (or more) ? No thanks.

By which time... LOL.

I've been putting off the 100TC for several weeks.
Plenty of folks have theirs coming by next week... FT etc.

I ordered a couple Monday, domestic & similar pricing... should arrive tomorrow. :p

I know lots like the aromamizer. Some of its features, or lack thereof killed it for me. This has a lot going for it. I'm interested, but at this point, I'll just wait for the Griffin v2. It will be interesting to see how the Supreme does.

I just love the ease of wicking with the juice holes being in the deck.
It's so like an RDA (which would explain the RDTA moniker).
I understand Roxy has co-designed a new monster of an RTA with that feature as well.
Should be threads about it both here and "over there", I don't recall the name.

The silicone AFC band never bothered me, I removed it fairly soon anyway.
The non-aligned airflow is a bit more contentious issue. I'm fine with fiddling with it.

Anyway... both of those have been dealt with for the Supreme and probably the v2 RDTA as well.

I suppose my biggest gripe with the v1 RDTA is how slow it is to fill.
This new one's top-fill will sort that out. :p

MMMMMM I might pick one up for they resolved to two deal killers for me. Those was the bottom fill and the 1/2 assed AFC ring.

so it's this one or the Griffin. Decisions. Decisions...

If you're going to go that big (isn't the Griffin huge?) then the Boreas should be better than the 25mm 'Mizers. It's massive too.

I think.

I like that they made the build deck bigger. I have the original. I like the flavor and wicking. Just not a fan of the tiny build deck. I would like to get one of these but I may hold off with the Griffin 25 coming out next month.

Have to see how people like this version.

See, I think it's Ray that posted pics of the Griffin next to some toppers that I have... Bellus, 'Mizer, Velocity RDA... and they were dwarfed by the Griffin's deck.

So I thought it was even larger in diameter. And the Boreas too.

But I'm not shopping for anything that large, so I could easily be mistaken.
It's happened before. :p

Do you have any other SC kit already?

I think it looks awesome! I pre-ordered it about a week ago from SteamCrave. I never went for the Aromamizer cuz of the faults already mentioned, but the Supreme looks killer to me. but now I'm gonna need a bigger mod to set it on.

And that may not be the final AFC design.
I saw a pic last night with a single cutout (each side) with a stepped sizing for AFC.
Looked nice, but I'm not sure which version is earlier or latest.

the "stepped" design is the new one. Apparently it pushed the release date back a week or so.

So, after some real world usage, what are your thoughts? Aromamizer Supreme or Boreas?

they are very similar if I had to choose it would be the boreas it's cheaper, I think it has better airflow it's very smooth. It has a bigger deck than the supreme I like the overall looks of the black boreas better then the black aromamizer supreme. I like how the Supreme has independent juice flow control aND it doesn't leak when I fill it. The boreas definately will leak at times but I'm starting to figure out how to prevent it. They are both great tanks I haven't been using my drippers and I love drippers. But like I said if I had to choose it would be the boreas, now if they would release colored glass then the boreas would be perfect lol

So what is this leaking issue I keep reading about with the Boreas?

When people fill they just open and fill...they dont follow the directions for filling..it will leak if you dont fill it correctly.

I fill it like this and you can fill it to the brim without issues.
Flip tank and wait a second.
Close JC/AFC
Fill
Open to AFC/JC setting of choice and take a draw.

When you fill it and theres juice in the well section at the bottom you can create pressure that forces juice up and out the AFC holes and it will keep doing it until the pressure is relived, if you fill it like this or like the directions tell you, you wont have a single issue with the RTA-most people just dont read them or care to.

I do both the turn it upside down method and sucking juice into the coils with the afc/jfc closed and it seems to work most of the time. The aromamizer still wins in this department there's no extra steps you just close off the afc and jfc and fill it and it never leaks. The boreas is still better imo the leaking is a minor issue everything else with the boreas is better just an extra step or 2 to filling it.

With all my tanks, I always:
  • close off the airflow and juice channels
  • open
  • fill
  • close
  • take a hit (sorta)
  • open air flow
  • take a hit
  • open juice flow
  • take a hit.
No leaky. This should work the same with the Boreas, correct?

You dont need to prime it as your first hit is always wet but yes, following that you shouldnt have an issue.

Yea that's what I also normally do sometimes I'll add turn it upside down halfway threw closing the fill cap and leave it upside down for like 10-20 seconds. The past few days I've been leaving the turn it upside down part out and it still seems to work with just taking like a half of a hit with the afc closed

I got my 4ml Supreme mini a while back, and while the Boreas is still the tank that holds my heart hostage, I've gotta say the mini is such a sexy tank.

I finally got around to building my Aromamizer Supreme. I've only used it for a few hours, but WOW. I'm using a DIY Vanilla Custard that is my go to juice (I'm very familiar with it) and it almost tastes like I put too much flavor in it (It's the same batch that I'm using in my Billow V2 and Bellus). Lots of vapor and the flavor is off the charts. It's hard to believe just how much flavor I'm getting. So far color me very impressed . I have a Billow V3 Plus (25mm) and Griffin 25mm due in tomorrow but I can't see them being better the Aromamizer Supreme. I'm just sitting here with a big grin on my face :D.

PS I just have a simple 3mm 8 wrap spaced 28ga SS430 dual coil build on it (.42 ohms). I'm using TC, 430F at 40 watts on a Volcano Lavabox (DNA200). Very easy to build and wick. I'm almost speechless atm.

Cheers,
Steve

Yes, the Supreme is quite impressive, been without trying to get deck replaced since last weekend. I like a little more the functionality of Supreme, but Boreas has little better performance in my opinion. Keep forgetting to check out and get 2nd deck on Steam Crave as well as black glass and Spain kit, can't hurt to have extra deck.

Last my Herakles RTA should be here tomorrow, passed on Griffin as have the smaller one, something different not just bigger sounded better.

You'll love the Herakles RTA if you want something with a 17mm deck and tons of airflow. It doesn't perform as well at the Boreas, but it's one of the best performing standard non RDTA RTA's on the market if not the best right now.

Let me know how the Supreme compares to the griffin 25 and the billow v3 plus. I'm very interested in both those tanks but haven't pulled the trigger on them because I have both the Supreme and Boreas and I don't want to waste my money...

In my opinion there is no true RTA, Billow V3 Plus, Griffin 25mm, Herakles 24.7mm, Apache, VCMT, etc that compares to the performance of a well built Boreas or Supreme.

Yea that's why I didn't buy the griffin 25 I was looking forward to getting the 25 for months but know that I have the boreas I don't see a need for it...
