Sub Ohm questions

Hello. First post here. I have been vaping for about a year. For the majority of it I have been using a vision spinner 2 with a protank 3. I am an Uber driver and I had a girl in my car one night and she had the aspire cf sub ohm battery. I feel in love with it. Love the way it fit in my hand and the look. So I ran out and bought one not realizing it was just going to blow my coils. Again, I'm clueless about ohms. So I went back to the store and they said I needed a tank with sub ohm coils. They talked me into the new kanger subtank. Which I am in love with this beast.

My concern is this, the aspire cf sub ohm battery says on it "compatibility 0.3 to 1.0 ohm" but the subtank comes with a 1.2 and a 0.5 ohm coil. I tried the 0.5 and that's just too hot for me. So I put the 1.2 in and after 2 days it seems like the coil is burning out. Are the 1.2 coils ok with this battery? Or do I need a different Battery now for this tank?

3rd question. The subtank comes with an rba. Now what ohm is that? If I was to learn how to rebuild myself how the heck do you know what ohm the coil is? Is it in the size of the wire? Or the coil base or what? I admit my compete ignorance in this stuff but trying to figure it out.

Okay, so here's the deal. Starting with the 3rd question. lol I know, dont judge me!
RBA- Rebuild-able Atomizer
Ohm's=resistance
So when someone is saying Ohm's "1.2 ohms" that means that its resistance to the battery is 1.2 Ohms. Now, when you are talking about rebuilding and checking the resistance (ohms) you would need an Ohm's meter. Your local shop should have an Ohm's Meter. A decent one is about $20. That's the first thing you would need to start to rebuild. Now, I would not recommend rebuilding until you have learned a little more, and that is just for the safety concerns. You can stick with coil heads that come stock.

As far as the heat, quick question.... What is your nic? What kind of juice are you using? What airflow setting are you running? Do you lung inhale, or mouth to lung?

Also, If you want to learn Ohm's Law and start rebuilding, go and download an Ohm's Law app on your phone.

The 1.2 Ohm coil can be utilized without a problem. Going below 0.3 Ohm IS a problem, you might blow up the battery.

The RBA option is for you to decide. It depends on how you like your vape experience. Therefore, you build your own coils with the resistance you prefer, use the wicking material you like, etc. You can vary the experience utilizing different wire gauges, ID (inner diameter) of the coil. Refer to the website below, there's a part where you enter all the information for the coil you'd like to build, and it will tell you how may wraps you'll have to do. Still, verify with an Ohm reader for proper resistance and no shortage, before you put it on your device.

Also, If you want to learn Ohm's Law and start rebuilding, go and download an Ohm's Law app on your phone.
Or just use all the information available @ http://www.steam-engine.org, that's all I use (besides an Ohm reader).

I'd recommend something in the 0.7ohm range. About 7 wraps of 26agw at 2mm should give you a little over 0.7 ohms. Just make sure to check your ohms. Never rebuild without an ohm meter.

The subtank is an awesome tank - even if you don't subohm. It's just as good at 1.2 ohms (or higher) as it is as 0.5 (stock coils). From what I've heard the flavor/vapor is as good as a Kayfun without all the fiddly parts!

So, contrary to some opinions I'd say go for it, even if you don't subohm.

The subtank is basically a Kayfun on easy mode. As long as you get a good one. The Atlantis, on the other hand is basically a non-rebuildable Billow or Lemo.

Ah, there is that. A lot of them need a small file on the RBA base! But that's not such a big deal for the resulting flavor.
