Hello all,

I was just wondering, why do I get a sizzle sound with my stock kanger .5 coils. It does not happen with all of them but some give off a loud sizzle noise after a pull. Is this normal? I do a pretty good job of priming and stay between 35-40 watts. Just thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Is it more like a pop? I find stock coils take a while to settle in. Also they greatly differ in different mods. I'd say the crackling is pretty norm. In fact if you play with the airflow holes the noise changes or even stops the crackle.

I say build some coils ;)

Hello Daisy.

Its not a pop but a sizzle sound. So I take a tug and as I'm blowing it out, I can hear a loud sizzle. Almost like you are dropping butter or bacon on a hot pan. It's not with every coil I use, some do it, others don't. As for the coil building, I'm working on that and it is certainly a work in progress.

That's the juice cookin. Is it hitting fine? If it's not it could be getting flooded. If it is then fuckit.

Coils do that. They're hot. They stay hot for a bit. The juice is a liquid. Hit sizzles when its hot and also in contact with the air. Wait until you start getting into twisted coils and claptons. They pop and crackle.

Usually when mine do this it's time to clean the coil and rewick. As gunk from regular vaping builds up it acts as an insulater for the coil making it stay hotter longer after the button press. This will also lead to slightly less vaper production and a change in flavor. This is why I prefer RBA. Just pull out the old wick , dry burn the gunk off the coil, rinse with water, dry it,rewick and enjoy. Coil heads need to be replaced. After cleaning and rewicking it vapes like new. I often find myself adjusting the power back down a bit because a clean coil with new wick vapes more efficiently and the after sizzle stops.

Thanks for all the replies ladies and gents. Taste is the same (normally) in spite of the sizzle so I guess it's no big deal. Just kinda annoying.
