Sub ohm tank and wattage

I just bought a sub ohm tank with 0.5 coils and although I have it on a 70 watt box I'm wondering why all the ads for the sub ohm tanks all recommend using at 30watts. I don't like how hot it gets that high and want to be sure I'm not going to hurt anything by using it at lower watts.

30 watts seems to be the sweet spot for me. It might handle 70 watts but your more than likely gonna get a dry or burnt hit. I usually run my sub ohm tanks between 25 - 35 watts. Your definitly not gonna hurt it at that range.

A Kanger .5 ohm OCC coil is recommended between 18-30 Watts. Run it where you feel comfortable with the vape. I doubt you'll hurt anything if you run it below 18 Watts.
ETA: I run mine between 20-30 depending on what I'm vaping. YMMV though.

Adjust for taste and make sure you have enough watts to vaporize the juice without the atty flooding. I run mine between 25 watts on the low side and then 35 on the high side. If you buy coil heads that are .2 or .3 Ohms, you will need the power of your 70 watt device cranked up to produce thick vapor.

The reason why they recommend running those tanks at the wattages they do is because with the lower resistance it takes more wattage to heat up the thicker wire to work properly....and most people don't like running them at lower wattages because at those settings they don't get very hot or produce much vapor..

Higher resistance coils are usually made with thinner wire that has more resistance allowing them to heat up quicker at lower wattages but because the wire is thinner you have less surface area producing less flavor and vapor....the difference between the two is kinda like the difference between a 6 lane freeway and a two lane highway.

The sub ohm coils are like the six lane freeway, it takes a lot of cars jamming into it to slow traffic down and back things up (sub ohm coils with thicker, lower resistance wire needing more watts to heat up because it's got less resistance slowing down the electrical current running threw it.)

Where as plus ohm coils are like two lane country highways where it only takes a handful of cars to cause a backup (plus ohm coils with thinner, higher resistance wire needing less watts to heat up because the small wire creates a smaller choke point for the current running threw it)

The coils we use run off of ohm's law but another way to look at is is the "friction creates heat' principle. The smaller the wire/coil the less room for the electrical current running threw it has room to move and friction is created by the current passing threw it causing it to heat up. The larger the wire used in the coil the more room the current has to move threw it the less friction created as it travels threw it and the coil won't get nearly as hot with out running more current threw it.

That's why most .5 coils recommend 20+ plus watts, to put enough current threw them to heat up the coil properly.. That all being said...if you like the vape that a .5 ohm coil puts off at 12 watts than vape it at 12 watts....you can't hurt a coil buy running it at lower wattages. You can cause dry hits and burn wicks by cranking your mod up too high for the coil to handle but not too low...the worst thing that will happen is some of the liquid won't fully vaporize and you might get a bit in your mouth, unpleasant but harmless. Also, if you like running your mod below 20 watts some sub ohm tanks have higher resistance coils, like the 1.2 ohm coil for the Kanger Subtanks, that are meant to be ran between 10-18 watts. You can always look up and try one of those or the equivalent for your tank. But if you like what your .5 ohm coil puts out at 12 watts or something like that than vape on....vaping is a very personal thing all about personal preferences....I can tell you what I like and how I like to vape it all day long, doesn't mean you'll ever like the same thing. It's all about what works for you.

Happy Vaping! :)

Thank you!!!! I get it!! Finally!! Your explanation was fantastic and thoroughly understandable. So now I'm going to ask you this...I have Samsung INR18650's (baby blue ones) and when I vape at 18 watts (I like that) and occasionally at 20 watts, I seem to use up the battery way faster than when I vape a dripper (0.7) at 12 watts. Is there a better battery that will last longer at higher wattage (I also have a few Efest IMR18650 35A 2500 mAH and Sony VCT 4 and 5's that are real ones not clones). They all seem to drain equally fast except the oldest Efest and Sonys... It would be nice not to feel like I always needs to carry a spare battery!

Your "Baby Blues" are good batteries. If you pump up the wattage bat life suffers as with everything its a trade off. I would strongly recommend having a spare battery with you if your gonna be away from home longer than what you know your device will last at the highest wattage you vape at.

yup, it's all about how many amps are drawn to power the coil at your desired wattage. Even with regulated mod ohm's law applies, and no regulated mod is 100 percent efficient, the best ones are in the lower 90 percent range. So if you use an ohm's law calculator and you need five amps for a coil to get the desired wattage it's going to draw more like 5 and a half amps from the battery for the chipset in the regulated mod to produce the desired effect. Even when you "step down" and go lower in amps and voltage there is still a converter loss, so depending on the ohm's of your coil and the wattage you run it at will deturmine how fast the battery drains...

that being said, with today's much better chips then we had even a year ago at this time with maybe the exception of the DNA30 and one, maybe two yihi chips (they were still finding their footing, let's be honest,) with the new regulated chipsets it's more about just how many watts you want to crank out of your mod...yes coil resistance still plays a factor but it's getting to the point where the more watts you want the faster your battery is going to drain. The Steam Engine doesn't just do coil build calculation estimates but also has a section for estimated battery drain and life at a given setting with several mods pre programmed into a drop menu so you just have to put in your battery and it will give you an estimate of how long it will last at a given setting so you can see what I am talking about...even if the numbers seem complicated, it's really very simple to use. I will link it below and I hope it helps...if it doesn't tell me and I'll try to explain it better....I'm just glad I was able to help :)

http://www.steam-engine.org/batt.asp

click on the "regulated" option and then find your battery and it will give you an estimate on how long it will last once you plug in your given settings :) Your "baby blues" are Samsung INR-18650 25R's in the drop down menu. The efficiency is set to 90 already, it's a good average between the mods and for demostration purposes it will work...just plug in your battery and resistance and power settings and as you change them you'll see the difference of the power to the chipset and then the power from there to the coil and an estimate of the total runtime at those settings

Madmonkey - once again I have to say "Thank You"!!
You are just a font of knowledge!! (And good links!). I appreciate the time you've spent clearly and concisely explaining everything. I actually know what my Samsungs are ( as well as the other batteries I own) it's more of a memory issue than a knowledge issue. At any rate I really appreciate your support, time, and energy you've put into your explanations.

LOL!! Just 1 spare? I bring my little plastic case with 2 spares, as well as a second mod with tank!! I'm definitely a chain vaper when I'm driving/being out and about! But thanks for the suggestion.

I'm new to this forum, and my fiancée and I have been vaping for going on four years.

We started with Blu - no satisfaction there; then, the EGO-T wick types that were messy, and a pain-in-the-@$$...

Then came the EVOD, which introduced us to KangerTech - we worked our way up to the Aerotank Mega... and, 1.2 - 1.5 coils were replaced every four days (!).

Now, we're up to 50 watt eLeaf iSticks, and KangerTech SubTank minis. The lowest resistance coil/cotton-impregnated we can find is .5 ohms... at 50 watts,
they get burnt. Badly.

So, what can a KangerTech SubTank Mini user do to get the vaping power at 50 watts, without going to a drip system (PIA, again),
and keeping things simple and sweet like our existing clearomizers do, but, we're at a 30 watt limit.

We want 50 watts, with clearomizer simplicity. Does KangerTech offer the pre-made coils at .3 ohms?

Experts, tell us what to do. :) LW

Lol! I wouldn't call myself an expert, well informed at best but not an expert. To tell you the truth...Kanger doesn't make anything lower that I am aware of currently than .5 ohms for the subtanks...to get 50 watts from them you would have to rebuild the OCC heads yourself or use the RDA deck and those chambers are so small that the temp would probably be painful to say the least. To get that 50 watt sub ohm tank vape you crave I would suggest an Aspire Atlantis 2 with the new coils or an Arctic Tank with their .2 ohm coils. I love the arctic tank and they're dirt cheap....as for the atlantis, I have the Eleaf Melo which is Aspire's cheaper alter ego (made out of cheaper stuff but uses the same coils,) and I think it out preforms the subtank by just a bit...don't get me wrong, I love both. I am currently carrying a subtank mini on a rDNA40 and the Melo on my DNA30 as my all day vapes. do a bit of research and see which one fits you best...that would be my so called "expert advice" :)

I'm honestly just happy I can help. I remember when I was new and learning what a PITA it was to get a straight answer without being treated like shit by the peoples at certain other forums that shall remain nameless. Now that I have a bit of knowledge to myself I swore my way of PIF'ing forward in the vape world would be to do the best I could to help new vapors get started, keep vaping, and make sure they understand everything about their gear. I've given away a ton of homemade beginner kits over the last couple years...stuff like ego's and evods or protank minis with my custom home rebuilt Kanger coils with Kanthal instead of nicrome so they actually work better and last longer and stuff like that. I believe in the power of vaping to the point that I do everything I can, even those calls to action which can seem tedious and redundant at times, to keep vaping legal, alive, and free...anytime I can help I am more than happy to and I am glad I got your questions answered and thank you again for the kind words :)

For the record, we're relocating to Colorado when the house and land sells... I'll be closer to my brother in LA, and my fiancée will be in the same state as her family.

We both love vaping (we're still at 2.4%, or 24 mg nicotine); we want a bit more satisfaction from our more powerful mods, so we can drop to 12 mg (lol).

Thanks again for a rocking forum - LW

Yup...you'll want to probably cut back on the nic a little bit....I don't know how I used to vape 36 mg in cartos and drip 24 mg on 306's and 510 attys. I tried dripping a bottle of 18 mg I found a couple weeks ago just to see because I love the flavor and thought it was empty (keep in mind I am down to 6 on everything,) and it gave me the worst headache in three hits and just stung in my throat...but whatever keeps you happy more power to yah! :)

That sucks about the vape ban and the tax...I honestly couldn't live anywhere that vaping was banned...I do my calls to action and have sent a few personalized letters and phone messages down to our state capitol but even in "liberal Washington State" it feels like we have to fight tooth and nail just to keep breaking even ground. Best of luck to you and hoping you have a smooth move (I am a professional mover by trade. Wishing you the best on it when it's time :) )

Cheers :)

Sub-Ohm Clearomizers. No muss,
no fuss. No looping of wire, no insertion of cotton... the civilized
person's way to vape.
No messy drip systems,
and no coil changes every four to five days like the EVOD systems (though, I do have a spare KangerTech Mega with 1.2 ohm coils should I drop my current clearomizer, breaking the glass - Sub-Ohm Minis are kind of flimsy in their design.

To madmonkey, and anyone else out there:

What is your opinion of the Zephyrus .3 ohm clearomizers? I know that the coil heads themselves come in a four-pack, rather than the Arctic's five - and, they are pricier - however, I'm just seeking any and all opinions from the clearomizer vaping
people here who are more knowledgeable than I.

For I'm seeking the best quality, durability, and coil head life that I can find.

To be honest, my fiancée had already purchased the eLeaf iStick 50 watt
at a local
vape shop ($64.73 with
tax).

I suggested (wink-wink,
nod-nod) that we could
get two for $62.50 - if
she wouldn't mind
waiting, like I did when I
got my birthday present
- an eLeaf iStick 30 watt
from "Slow Tech" - a
nineteen day wait.

So, we now begin the cartomizer quest... and, the wait. :) LW

lol :) From one musician to another...I like your writing style. I never made it "big" as you would say...but I spent my late teens and early 20's traveling as a cross country mover by day and playing open mikes, open jam band sessions, and working as a guitar and drum tech for several local bands for gas money and beer by night...awe, those were the days weren't they? :)

In regards to your tank question as to which one is better I wish I could help you out there but I can't...I could site, link, and quote youtube video's and reviews but i'd just be spitting up other people's words and that's not what I like to do...I do have a small amount of knowledge about vaping for sure, but I just don't have the time and money to buy everything that comes out and play with it like a pro reviewer. However I can say this in regards to your question...

For the price I don't think you can beat the Arctic tank and it's single coil .2 ohm heads on performance at certain price point. I love that tank at about 65 watts with a .2 BVC style head and the thing is cheap. Just like my Melo tank. The Eleaf Melo is an Atlantis V1 tank made out of cheaper metal and performs pretty much the same as the Atlantis because it uses the same Atlantis coils as the Atlantis tank. Eleaf and Aspire are sister companies and owned by the same parent company so a lot of their stuff is identical and interchangible....just like Chevy and GMC....it's basically the same but it's not :)

If you want quality and/or durability than I would go for An Aspire Atlantis v1 or 2 or stick with the Kanger Subtanks for now because part of durability in my mind is the availibility of replacement parts like tank glass if something breaks or if I am going to have to buy a whole new unit. The Arctic tank by Horizon for example I love dearly but I haven't been able to find replacement parts anywhere for. However, since I have been able to find it many places priced between 17-22 bucks it's a low enough price point for me that it's worth owning and just replacing if I break because of it's low price and how much I enjoy the tank. I know Kanger and Aspire have both either replacement parts available or upgrade options....so for me since I like the tanks they're worth buying even though they're a higher price point than the Arctic because I can buy replacement parts fairly reasonably priced and that makes it worth it for me.

That's my thought process when I go to buy something...well, actually it goes like this...research product, research price, research extra replacement part options and price, research coil specs and price. That is the order I look at things and if I still want it enough after all that then I know it's the tank for me...I've only ever bought one tank I hated and that was an RTA of the old Fogger V2...I had nothing but problems with that piece of shit, it was a lot of work to keep it from shorting and just wasn't worth it.

No in regards to buying things From Fasttech and waiting verses buying things stateside and paying more. It depends on what I am buying. If it's small things like spare Kayfun parts or cheap drip tips that I don't care if I break at work or magnets or o-rings, or even cheap drippers or mech mods...if the reviews on the FT forums are good about a product and I don't need it right away I'll buy it and wait out the shipping. If it's something big like a high end regulated device or a high end mech or dripper I always by statside and not just from anyone but from a store I know and trust with a proven high standard of customer service. Althought FT actually has great customer service and I've never had a problem returning or exchanging things with them, especially if it is around Chinese new year, I can get old and grey waiting on postage before things get shipped and everything is fixed and resolved. If I am going to buy something like an Istick or any kind of regulated mod I usually pay the extra and buy it from the states...this is my personal opinion and way of thinking and no one has to agree with me...but...if anything goes wrong it was bought in my country and the sale was subject to my countries laws and regulations. If an exchange is needed it can be done in a couple days instead of several weeks at worst case, and even though the people at Fasttech are much better at English than I will ever be at Mandarin...if there is any problem that needs to be resolved for whatever reason it's best that the two parties speak the same native language to help avoid any misunderstanding whatesoever as much as possible. These aren't all the reasons I'll buy a mod stateside over china, but some of the bigger ones. I've bought a few mods off fasttech and haven't had a problem with any of them except for one...and back then I had a fuse I used in my mechs and the mech I am reffering to that I had problems with was also the only mech I ever popped a safety fuse with because the threading was so horrible it was a constant soft shorting circuit. I'd still by tanks and mechs from them, Just for ease of returns and worse case scenarios it's easier to just deal with a company stateside IMHO...

Ok, I've ranted enough about this...I hope this helped even though I couldn't give you the specific info you wanted...I'm sure someone will chime in that owns the tanks and give you the info you seek. Thanks again for the kind words earlier...they made me smile and laugh out loud at work...kinda made my day :)

Good luck to you and wishing you the best and happy vaping!

oh...and ps..... as someone who is divorced, in regards to your question about who is right about where and who to order from....well...my answer is I never get involved in domestic disputes and affairs :D

Glad you found a place close that suites your vaping needs...its always good to have a brick and mortar on standby for vaping emergencies :)

Second Hand Vapor has no harmful side effects I am aware of for vapors or non vapors alike, although the smell of good vapor has been known to cause uncontrollable vapor cravings of fiendish perportions ;)

having 0 nic around is nice but remember that adding nic to 0 nic flavors can mute the taste...glad you like it here...it's a nice place to be and we're glad to always have more happy vapors hanging around :)

After reading other posts here (I also created a new thread in the Introductions forum, titled "I Vape - And I Vote!" Stop by!), I'm reading about RBA systems, among many others. I'm assuming these are rebuildable coil systems... if anyone feels like filling me in about these different systems, fire away! Can people with free memberships like myself receive private messages? If so, and you
feel more comfortable about that way of sharing information - please do so.
Thank you :) LW

There are a variety of RBAs. The main two I know are RDAs and RTAs. RDAs are rebuildable dripping atomizers and RTAs are rebuildable tank atomizers.

And yes anybody should be able to receive and send private messages but I'm sure someone will answer you here to get the info out to more people.

Well, my fiancée and I got our eLeaf iStick 50W
mods yesterday morning. Ordering through the Android app
is misleading! Ours showed up with Euro chargers... WTF...

I'll write one thing, though. We ordered them through the app on the Fourth of July, and they actually arrived on the 14th (we were grocery shopping, and missed the mail lady). Ten days! That must've been a record for Singapore Post. However, that warm and
brown stuff hit the fan...

Not only did we receive Euro chargers, but my lady's OLED display never glowed once. I had an American-type eLeaf charger from my iStick 30W I received back in late May (Fast Tech... it took nineteen days to get that order delivered).

So, my fiancée's never worked; it wouldn't even take a charge from my eLeaf charger. She's not very happy, as she had bought one locally, burned a .5 ohm KangerTech coil (I tried to tell her, squirt some e-liquid into the drawing holes on the coil's sides, and start off at two volts on her new mod). The e-liquid darkened, and the resistance on the OLED display read .7 ohm. New coil, clean out the Sub Tank Mini with a Q-Tip, add new e-liquid.

At 30 watts, she didn't like the delay in the draw, or the warmish 'hits' She took it back the next day. She spent $64 and some change, and got it refunded.

So, here we are, waiting again. She's using my 30 watt now. We can't wait to get our new Horizon Arctics. We're both still using the KangerTech Sub Tank minis.

At thirty-five watts, my new mod works great. She's at around 24 watts, and she's satisfied... but, "...she got dem Fast Tech blues..." (insert some blues harp here).

She wouldn't use my new one, though, I offered it to her.

Another day in the life of a vaping couple - LW

If you've got a OCC coil that likes to vape without constantly dry hitting and burning about 25ish watts you've got the magic "golden coil" because most of them don't like to vape that high of power and let you know instantly....enjoy it while it lasts :)

I've reset mine back to 30W, and the OLED display still reads the 'golden coil' at .5 ohm.

Still tasty, too. I cannot wait to go to the Horizon Arctic, with NicQuid's
'Daybreak' at 12 or 8 mg
- to get satisfaction, and
great taste.

As always,
@madmonkey, your
suggestions and
feedback ars always
heartfelt, as well as insightful. Cheers, brother - LW

That's good it reads .5 ...the coil is supposed to read .5 and every one I"ve had reads somewhere between .59 and .67 ohms. But every OCC subtank coil I"ve used stock before rebuilding has given me either burned or dry hits about 25 watts so I keep them at 24.5 and :I rarely have a problem with them...I might get one kind of dry hit right after I fill the tank if I overfill it and the pressure inside isn't right. But 24.5 seems to be the magic number for me. It's the same with the Atlantis coils...the side of them says .5 ohms and 20-30 watts and 24.5 seems to be the sweet spot for me to vape them without them dry hitting and burning.

Just weighing in. The Subtank Mini is a very efficient tank IMO. Great flavor, great clouds at lower wattages. If you HAVE to run it at 50 watts, you may want to look into getting the new vertical coils for the Subox Mini that came out a couple months ago. Though in my opinion I enjoy having a great vape at 25-30 watts and getting longer batter life out of my iStick.
I own both the Atlantis V2, which I can run up to 100W or so on my Sig 150 with the .3 coil and the Subtank Mini. In my opinion, I enjoy the Subtank Mini at 28 watts more than the Atlantis V2 at 85. YMMV and good luck!

@madmonkey... brother... that last comment cut like a knife. What they did was bulls***, and you're supposed to be my "Tacoma Terror", protecting me from making bad decisions...

Ah, well, I screwed up ordering the items, anyway... I've got no one to blame, but myself. :(

LW

Sorry bud, I've been out of town for work the last couple days and forgot my phone charger....I just saw this. That last comment wasn't meant to cut you like a knife, it was more like a statement of amazement....I've never had that kind of problem with FastTech cancelling or returning anything...but I have never ordered a regulated mod from them either. I use fast tech for as many spare parts as they have in the sizes I need for my gear and occasionally order a mech mod or throw away RDA to tinker with new builds with and such as I have a certain build for each of my atties I like but I also like having atty's specifically to work on new ones that I might want to change up with while not giving up my current ones till I'm ready.

I can't remember where I posted it, if it was in one of our conversations or somewhere else about fast tech, but I said to someone that I usually pay a little more and order all my regulated gear stateside just for the ease of customer service for problems like this...don't get me wrong, fast tech are great for some things and I use them as much as anything for the things I've said, but anything with a circuit board or chipset where something electronic can go wrong it's just easier when you can speak the same first, native language...

I am truly sorry you had problems with them...as for the "Tacoma Terror"....well, I took the show on the road and tore up Whidbey Island for a couple days, I f''''n hate that place but the pay was good and it had to be done....none of us can win 'em all....hopefully you get the situation fixed one way or another soon if not already my friend. Stay strong and wishing you happy vaping soon :)

@madmonkey, we finally got the RMA number for my lady's defective eLeaf iStick 50W... it's like they deliberately dragged out my return request, knowing I had only thirty days to get things done.

We're sending the unit to their Miami, FL overnight even though they state "...please send your return using the least expensive shipping method..."

I had to send them at least ten tickets, with YouTube links and pictures. If you don't respond to each ticket, they'll consider the matter 'resolved', which closes your complaint.

Damn.

Well, they're going to receive the return registered Next Day Air... then, they're going to ship a new one, with an American charger... probably by the slowest shipping method they use...

We thought, "Why get one eLeaf iStick 50W for $64 Stateside, when we can get two for $62.50..."

Never again... though, we ordered some Horizon .2 ohm coil heads for when we get the Arctics Stateside.

I've learned my lesson. However, I have an English professor friend who teaches English in Xilinhot province in China. If this should happen again, he promised to draft me an email in Chinese.

That ought to rattle their cages.

What bull****.

LW :-[

Sorry, again, long days with little reward, I saw your message but last night I crashed. I am sorry you had such trouble with Fast Tech...my advice is buy whatever spare parts (not premade coils, but like o-rings and cheap drip tips) or RDA's and mechs that have positive reviews in the discussions, not the reviews, but in their forum discussions usually tell the real story if something is worth waiting for from them.

But anything regulated or with a chipset in them I always recommend to pay the extra to get stateside or from Europe worst case, just for this reason, dealing with another country with such a language barrier when the rules you're used to don't apply...well...when things go right they're all good. When things go wrong, they're all wrong....and I mean all wrong. I would suggest you have your professor buddy deal with them as much as possible that he can on your behalf since you have that option. One thing I learned from living abroad quicker than anything is that if you can meet someone in their country on their terms when they least expect it, not only will it catch them off guard and surprise the hell out of them, but you're more likely to be happy with the results because they will believe they can no longer bullshit you. It's sad but true.

Amercians don't notice it as much because we live in a giant country, I mean the US is huge as far as countries go and we have our own language. We speak something simular to English, but it's not the same....When I studied German abroad I had to learn proper English first before I could begin to learn German because the subtle differences are enough to really confuse you when you're not aware they are in play...but I am getting sidetracked. Even within the US we have several versions and dialects of our "American English" with different accents and colloquialisms that even throw off us from different parts of the country....our different slang words make us laugh, but to someone outside looking into this big melting pot of bastardized English it can be down right confusing...And our language is about as far fundamentally from China's and all of their dialects as humanly possible.

All of that I wrote to just reconfirm my point of "If you have a ringer than use it' ;)

As for paying more for a mod...well it's a case of "you get what you pay for" and it's worth it for the service and satisfaction of getting what you want and problems resolved. As for where to buy your tanks....I would check out 101Vapes, or http://www.eciggity.com/, or Discount Vapor, or a few others before I would go into a brick and Mortar...you have to wait for your mods so why not order your tanks and get a better deal and save a little...I can send you my "vape web link book" if you'd like of all the places I've ever shopped...I warn you...over the last couple years I've tried a lot of places at least once if not saved them on the "maybe someday" shopping list standby. I have quite a few stores in my que :)

Once again, sorry that went sideways on you but Fast Tech is really good about making things right once they've decided to...it's probably just going to take a bit. Finger's crossed and wishing you the best of luck on it :)

You know, I am in a short run between shifts...I took a sick day thursday from exhaution so this will be shorter than my usual post so please don't think I am discounting anything said, I'll be back Sunday in my full form before going out of town for work for the week :)

But @LOveWerks .... I don't remember those tanks being so exspensive....must be something to do with popularity...I am sorry about that...I am, ashamed to say, behind the times on things...I'll catch up as always but I prefer to stay more on top of things than I have...I have reviews to watch and read, pricing to check up on, and many a threads backlogged to read through. I am sorry things are on the up but if you're going back to Fast Tech you must be a glutton for punishment like me :) Joking of course....but in my line of work it's said you must be at least slightly insane and be a glutton for pain. And yes, proper English is a quite nice thing to read....my writing style is however, the opposite. I write as if I were speaking to you in a conversation, without thought or filter. for all it's harm and folley it may cause me I prefer to be honest in this way as apposed to come across as something I am not....face to face, or post to post...this is me :)

Damn it. @madmonkey, I tried to go back and edit what I wrote in the previous post, and my browser crashed.

My father died in 2006 from cancer. That was why I wished that vaping had been developed - and popular - years earlier. I apologize to any moderators here at VU if I've gone off-topic.

LW

I'm sorry about your parents....it's kinda funny with all the technology we have that something simple as vaping wasn't figured out on the scale it is didn't happen sooner. Your speech doesn't bother me...I was more or less speaking of a contrasting point in was ways to converse :) Although I may be an 80's child my aunt I lived with when I was young was a grammar nazi....constantly correcting my speech and using huge words I had to constantly look up. When I was a teenager and in my young 20's I was told that I constantly used big words in an annoying fashion and didn't do it on purpose but I "talked over people" because of it so I learned to "dumb myself down" how I said things, literally :)

It was just a comparison statement and meant no harm, I apologize....as for wandering off topic, we all do from time to time :) And as long as it's not harming anyone, who cares how you speak? you're entitled to sound like you i reckon :) I am glad I can help, that's all try to do, although I've been slacking lately :)

No slacking, from the Monkey Man - @madmonkey. It is hotter than Hades today in North Cackalatchee... my lady and I cannot wait to be out of here, and in the mountains of Colorado. Where we live, it isn't exactly a cultural mecca. Friday, we were late to my fiancee's doctor appointment - due to getting stuck behind slow moving tractors... "they all wear camo, with rifles and ammo..." (lyrics from a song I wrote, called "Fish Out Of Water").

When we got to the pharmacy, an old redneck from the days of Jim Crow was trying to get into his improperly parked truck; he stood back as we backed out, and said: "I don't trust women drivers." My lady is a size two - but, dynamite comes in small packages. She gave him a dirty look, and said, "You've got room to get into your truck! @$$hole!"

How a creature so sweet and adorable can become a harridan is beyond explaining... yet, I love her like the stars up above. It's the damned full moon. That's why she's my manager. Be well, brother - LW

LOL....like the old saying goes .... "hell hath no furry like a woman's scorn" and don't I know it brother ;)

Sorry for the long time between replies again...what was supposed to be my time off turned into another four days out of town so I keep falling farther and farther behind here and with my vaping in general...I do more than my fair share of vaping advocasy for my neck of the woods and the county I live in just launched an 85,000 dollar anti vaping campaign we're fighting...I don't know where they got it because there's sure as hell no money to fix the damn pot hole in my street and I live on the same street as city hall and the high school field so I am just dumbfounded but they got it somehow.

I can't stand Denver, I hate that town. I have friends in the Springs and family up in the hills by the Wyoming line several miles down a dirt road a little west of 287 and I love it out in that area and in the small towns on the west side of the State and where you live. It's beautiful laid back country and I love it and it's great to live that and I think it's awesome you do...but I can't stand Denver and feel glad for you that you're not stuck there :) But it does get hot as hell out there in the summer, there's no joke or way around that, espeically this year.

Jim Crow can think what he likes, times are a changing and he won't be around much longer to deal with that (not wishing him a short life but if he's as old as you're saying they'll have to keep him in a pickle brine after too much longer :) )

I will sit down and write a proper response if I ever have time to catch up here and everywhere else vaping related...I am not promising a time and jinxing myself again as I was supposed to have tomorrow to myself and that blew up in my face...no rest for the wicked i reckon....happy vaping bud and talk soon....

your buddy....the MM :)

Herakles has the best flavor at 50 watts or above, best subohm tank I have tried! It can handle 80 watts and I have even hit it at 150 for a short pull..

This is more of a question than reply. I have a beautiful mod that only goes to 15 watts, and I don't have any idea of what type of tank to use on it. It has the standard 5/10 pin connection with an 18650 battery I put in it (is that even the right battery to use). I am a relatively new vaper and usually use mods at 40 to 60 watts, with RDAs. A anyone know what I should do, get, and how to safely operate.

Yes the 18650 is the right battery (but you didn't mention brand which is important) but I would recommend you first figure out whether you are a "mouth to lung" vaper (generally a tighter draw which also produces lower vapor) or a "lung" vaper where you have a looser draw that allows you to 'pull in' more, warmer vapor and release more vapor (clouds').., you also need to determine your nicotine needs (although that doesn't have anything to do with the type of equipment). If you've become used to vaping an rda at 40-60watts your little 15watt device is not going to be very satisfying for you. The recommended equipment you'd need is also going to depend on how much you expect or would like to spend.
