Subox mini Battery doesn't last and other stuff

I will start by saying I like my Subox. Like it a lot. Couple things I noticed. One was tiavapes on YouTube just did a one month review and mentioned 2 things which I noticed. One was this thing blasts thru juice quick which I thought was me hitting it hard since I used to smoke Newport 100s. But she did say this is probably one of better subohm tanks that is pretty ok with juice consumption. Ok but damn. Lol. Second was bubbles in tank around post and seal. Which is ok. That don't bother me. Other thing that I have not seen was battery consumption. I run thru battery like crazy. I am running a efest battery which I hear is re wrapped LG I believe. My buddy has same Subox with a Sony battery and he has same issue. Neither one of us can get a work shift out of our kangers. Now, I vape more than he does and My wattage are set lower than the 30watt I see people using on this setup and man this eats up battery. I don't know if it's just way it is or what. Two different batteries and same result. Btw. I would buy this again if I had to. It's awesome vape

Agreed, I usually vape at 25 watts and use Samsung battery and man ... it consumes battery real fast

I'm at 24watts and so is my buddy. And this thing sucks it up quick. If that's the case then I might as well go up to 30watts. 24 and 30 work good. But I figured if I keep watts low but still tasty then cool but it seems like no difference.

The only mod I have that doesn't go through batteries quickly is my Sigelei. The KBox and Subox burn up 3-4 a day, Cloupor Mini maybe 2 or 3. But I'm a pretty heavy vaper.

I was looking into a segelei as another one I might want to buy but I like my Subox. My only issue is darn battery life

Oh, I love my subox. But there's just something about a single cell mod that just isn't conducive to battery life, for me anyway. I just make sure I tote a few spares anywhere I go with it. My Sigelei 150 is my gem, get a lot more time out of that extra battery.

That sound weird. The lower wattage model goes thru batteries quick. To me I can deal with a recharge of battery one day but not even an 8hr shift. That's what gets me

I have the IPV 2X and the battery lasts all day and I consider myself a heavy vaper and I vape at 25-30W and drip at 40W.

Odd to me, but the subox tank nor my original sub tank mini will fire on the Sigelei. Haven't tried adjusting the pin, but my sub tank and sub tank plus work great on it, and so does my fogger.

Single cell mods are definitely going to have short battery life spans. Its the thing you give up in order to have a small device. I just carry extra batteries around. I would much rather carry 2 extra 18650 in a case than have a mod twice the size. But i really love small setups.

If you want a All day small device then pick up a Istick 50w, it lasts all day even when chain vaping 50w. Every single cell device will have short battery life but the battery itself also matters, Mah rating, Lipo/Li-Ion/LifePo4 all have their own pros and cons. I would suggest a small parallel device for a longer time between charges but form factor and size will be in question, also regulated or not. The Isticks and similar are the best bang for the buck in battery life and size but are limited in ways to charge and wattage ranges. Pick something that works for your schedule and wallet.

For my "out of the House" device I bought a Waidea Idea 60w (Cheap Istick Knockoff). Its goes to 60 watts and has 2 built in Lipo 18650's and lasts all day unless Im pushing the 60w chain vaping. It is shaped like the VaporFlask but it has a much simpler UI the batteries are built in, it only costed me $40 though. My Istick 50w is smaller and lighter but only goes to 50w but has its own quirks (Firing button is wonky at times, randomly shuts off) but it lasts all day and works with almost tank I throw on it. The Istick costed me 50 at the time I bought it. I take my Istick while walking in shorts and shirt attire when the Idea 60w would be heavier and weigh my shorts down. I take the Idea 60w when wearing pants as it conforms to my legs when a heavier fabric is used....These are the smaller things that people normally dont take into consideration when planning on buying something but make or break items in the long run.

0.3Ω at 25w = 9.129a
0.5Ω at 25w = 7.071a
1.0Ω at 25w = 5a

The more amps you pull out of your battery, the faster you'll use it up. Put another way... 1a = 1000mah ... so the more amps the more milliamps you are pulling.

You know, battery life isn't something that I paid super close attention to on mine....but I received it over a period of a few days when I received a lot of gear. Since I took the next few days off, I will make it my daily driver and see what battery life is really like and how it compares to my other mods (currently A/B'ing batt life between the dual batt Project Square and the single batt Sig 50W per a question I was asked). I'll A/B it to the Sig with the same battery, tank, coil, and juice.

As far as juice usage goes, I can only compare the Kanger tanks to an Arctic and the eGo ONE tank. So what might seem above average to some seems normal to me. But I don't mind.....the tanks are awesome and provide for a very satisfying vape.

Yup....the circuit is killing the battery. I pulled the battery from the Sig 50W and let it charge over night. Popped it in this morning around 9AM and have been using it since. It's almost 2PM my time, and after a tank of juice (10/90 PG/VG) through a Subtank Mini at 30W with a .5 ohm factory coil and the battery is shot. 5 hours of use. The Sig 50W can run much longer than this. In this comparison with the Sig 50W everything remained the same including vape style (I had a work from home day yesterday and took today off). Battery is/was a Samsung 25R FWIW.

A useful metric for these sorts of things would be joules (watt-seconds) per milliliter. Hopefully, the joules counter like one similar to what the YiHiEcigar SX350J has will be adopted as an industry standard so we can make more uniform energy efficiency comparisons of devices, batteries and coils/builds in the future.

Now some people vape 3ml a day, so for them they get 'a day's worth.' I vape 15-30 ml a day, so lots of spare batteries required!

Oh, and on my Istick 50 watt (same atty specs ) I get around 2 tanks - maybe 2.5!

I find that to be crazy, I use my Istick around 30-45 watts (.7-.4Ohm) regularly and I get atleast 3 tanks with a 5ml tank with the Istick(would see if its defective or only pulling from one cell), but your definitely right on with single 18650 battery life

Amanda - I agree 100%. I wish there was a better way to A/B mods so that decent reviews could be made on the actual efficiency of any given device vs. another. I do my mod comparisons based upon the same battery, juice, tank, coil, and wattage while trying to maintain the same day vaping style (week days and weekend days are very different for more of us). But in the end, it is subjective and hard to do a true review of how any mod handles a battery. And it always changes depending upon the user and his/her vaping style.
