What pg/vg mix is going g to be best to make the ciols last the longest, I can get the mix any way I want from the place I buy juice. Using the vertical occ coils for now, I'll probably swith to the rebuildable one eventually.

Also how low should I let it get before I refill the tank. I am guessing not to let the juice get below the bottom of the wick holes in the coil.

Been using a ego twist and protank for a while, just got a 50 watt mod and the subtank mini, and the new stuff is allot different than the old stuff I used to use.

Personally, a 50/50 or a 60vg, 40pg mix work better for me, others may differ. The really sweet juices gunk up coils faster, and I find darker colored mixes stick in the wick longer, and others might disagree. This is my experience.
The wick will hold fluid past the holes for a bit, but not much further.
Enjoy that mod!

I had a problem with protank coils flooding, some wod last a month and some would flood after a day or two.

I usually bought 80-90% pg juice, I recently read thin juice can cause coils to flood. Maybe that is why mine flooded

When I first started vaping I went with 100% vg and it did not seem to agree with me so I switches to juice with more pg and it seemed to be OK, I just got some kind of juice from a local store since the kid said to stick with 6mg nicotine or less with the sub ohm tanks , not sure what the mix is but it seems to be OK, probably won't buy their juice again, does not say where its made and there is no ingredient list or any thing .

i just tried this

80pg/20vg - 18mg nicotine mix in the subtank and man its a throat killer. it was on the harsh side on my old set up but on the new ones its kind of a killer.
not sure if its the mix of pg/vg or the nic levles but its not really tolerable its so harsh.. the other juice i have from the local store, i am not 100% sure what the mix is. i just know its 6mg nicotine and its really smooth..

If your using the .5ohm coil you really need to to slice your nic in half. The RBA in the Subtank is perfect for leaning on IMO. I prefer to use 26AWG Kanthal - 6 loose-ish wraps-2.5mm. That will usually get me .7-.8ohms. You might want to have a bottle of 3mg around just to feel the difference. If you start getting twitchy for nic you can always go back to 6mg. I find 30PG/70VG is the perfect mix for my RTAs. What's nice about a RBA is that you can play with the Ohms/wraps and customize the vape to your satisfaction. Once I began lowering my nic level(I'm @2mg), the flavors became much cleaner and could no longer vape pre-made inexpensive juices(I'm not rich).

I use this to wrap I paid around $2.50 from the same seller a while back. I'm sure you can shop around. I get my Kanthal from Lightning Vapes There are tons of vids on YouTube on building. You will save a lot of $$$ not buying pre-made heads. Once I went RBA I never looked back.

Edit: I'm not sure why the links aren't working. Anyway if you look for this on Ebay you'll find it.

+1 to cutting your nic
before getting the subtank i vaped 24-28mg
that is impossible on a subtank
6mg is about the max for most people on a sub ohm setup
the harshness you are feeling is the nic, you are getting more nic at once then if you put 5 cigarettes in your mouth at once

+2 on cutting the nic... lol I went from 18mg on a nautilus mini to 6mg on the subtank immediately... Ofcourse I've vaping ALOT more juice too, which is probably why 6mg is better... I could not imagine 80pg/20vg AND 18mg... my throat is kickin me in the balls just thinking about it lol!

I'm figuring that the thinner juice has some to do with your flooding like you said... I've had some issues with flooding at 50/50 but 65 and 70 vg isn't much of an issue...

Keep us posted! I'm sure others have the same question....

+3 on the nicotine. I have my DIY at 80VG/20PG in my Subtank without any problems. However, I'm using the RBA.

I'm also using the RBA but I have used a few of the prebuilt coils... The good thing about the RBA is that you can adjust your wicking material if you're having issues with flooding...

i always vaped 24-18 mg with the ego twist and pro tank.. the 6mg juice i have now seems to be good but i am not 100% sure i am getting enough nicotine but i think i am. i do not like to chain vape, a few puffs here and a few puffs there is how i like to do it.. i have almost used half a tank and i think i got this on Saturday, i bought a second tank for a back up and i tried the harsh juice in that, got to figure out how to dispose of that juice cus its not gonna work. i even tried to switch the coil to the 1.5 ohm and its still a kick in he balls.

after the occ coils go bad ill try out the rba coil, is the cotton it comes with good for wikcing?? i can even get premaid coils to start off with, heck it came with a few extra coils and pack of cotton so all i have to do is screw it in and put the wick in..

i may just get a small bottle of 50/50 and see how those work out. i was alsows told pg carrys all the flavor but its more harsh.. vg produces the smoke and is more smooth..

I have been running an atlantis tank for 8 months now. It has never leaked or flooded. Not once. I get a few weeks to a month out of 1 coil. It's a sub - ohm work horse. But man does it chug juice.

In the past week I've had my subtank mini I've went through almost 100 ml of high 60-90 percent vg juice and the coil still vapes fine. I'd definitely up your vg and lower nic to smooth it out. I wouldn't worry about the pg wih flavor, the best juice I've tried has been 90% vg.

Im into my third week running a .5 ohm coil with a 10/90 PG/VG blend at 6mg. 130 ml plus so far. Coil and cotton are getting rather dark but still hits like a fresh one.

As stated above - lower nic (3-6), higher VG.
I found in my subtank mini with a .5Ω coil using the RBA, I was getting excellent flavor at up to 90%VG as well (mmm, Cacteyed Jack) while staying at 3mg.
Prior to beginning my foray into sub-ohm vaping I was using juices with nic levels as high as 24mg - after the switch I used 6mg, then went down to (and stuck with) 3mg.

I feel that sub ohm vaping almost requires one to tip the scale toward the VG side, if even only slightly

70vg/30pg. Sorry for not being specific. I realize what I just got is horrible and nit going to work with this tank so I need to make a change. I know the one shop by my house everything is 50/50. Except a few flavors. I got one from them that was not 50/50. Not sure what the mix is but I like it. I have to call the up and ask since I can't remember what they said it was. the other stuff I ordered like I normally would that is a killer so I know I need to go some other direction than high pg
