Subvod wicking confusion

I have the subvod mega tc tank I use on the Kbox70.. and so I finally decided to start the process of using the mini rba that came with the set. I went back to the store for help building the coil it tasted great and made clouds like a sub-ohm should of course.
So here's the problem I went to change flavors, cleaned, rewicked it and filled the tank up. Worked very nicely until i refilled once more same as before without changing the coil which still works fine i assumed. soon after I realized it was burning the cotton when I opened the rba cotton was dark black it has been on 20 watts for the entire process of all the above.
So fine and dandy change the cotton once again at this point getting very annoyed.. after a few attempts I got some nice dry hits tasted like Kanthal.. finally said screw it and tried once more only this time I dry burned the kanthal and yeppers from the middle out evenly glowed got the cotton in and it hits like a train i mean REALLY hits.

Am I using too little cotton now? At first I assumed it was too much which was probably correct. . Farily certain nothing spits into my mouth the nicotine just blows me away now. Like that rush you would get off of nicotine for not having it after so long.. and honestly it took me like 3 hours to even get the wick 'decent' not a clue if it will hold for long; too afraid to take medium hits and have it burn possibly. Sorry I know I'm rambling.
Other info: 26guage Kanthal, Organic Japanese cotton, .6ohms roughly, (80/20 vg-pg never been a problem though)

I don't have that tank, but I would guess it's still too much cotton. You're probably pulling too much in the coil itself. Cotton swells when wet; it is famous for packing in the coil so tight it can't wick. That's probably why it's burning. Too little cotton, and the tank usually floods. For cotton, when pulling it in the coil, there should be some slight resistance in the coil, but it ought to slide back and forth fairly easily; it shouldn't pull the base and the build stand around on the table trying to move it.

Yea.. I tried less and its wicking a little better no crackling noise either just a tiny bit, I just can't seem to get the wick right still after a few pulls works okay surprisingly no burn yet. Thank you for the response it's really appreciated.
Every subvod mini rba video I find seems rushed because the user is experienced.
