Super T fans-resources, info etc

I Recently bought another ELA and also run into some people who have aquired some ELA and other wonderful Super T Manufacturing MODS.

I know that Super T Manufacturing is no longer in business but Im sure there are still a few that own them and might pick something up in the future.

I know that all the other old threads are still around in the archives but, I thought that maybe a thread in the Mechs section might be good for all that might have questions.

Also with the fact that spare parts, accessories etc are not something one can just buy, this might be a good place for resources on parts that can be found : springs, Oring sizes-resources etc. Some might even have found someplace that can make up parts or other compatible parts.

I used to hang out on the Super T threads and made some great friends. I miss that place and all the great people. I know many have moved on, sold or have their Super T gear in storage, but it might be fun to have a place to show off , chat and share info.

I sold my ELAs a long time ago, and recently got another one and Im in love all over again.
I was lucky enough to get some extras, switches, springs, compression bands, but I know at least one other person who bought one also and loves his to death and Im sure someday might need parts.

Maybe we can pool parts, accessories etc. If anyone has spares that they know might never use we can direct each other to good sources. I have one family member that owns a few CNC machines and am going to see what sort of reaction we get from this thread. If we get enough interest I might be able to beg him to make some parts or if any of you know anyone , maybe you can beg for limited run parts?

Do you have a machine shop or cool tools? Nice to know as I worry about positive pins for the ELA. I dont remember if the parts are compatible.

The only tube mech I still use on a daily basis. I ordered an extra positive pin right before they closed down.

Here are some detail shots of the ELA V1 top and switch. I wonder if any of the parts are compatible to the work horse?
I hope someday to get another positive pin for it. I believe its 2 parts , press fitted?

no I don't have a lathe wish I did at times, the center pin for the workhorse is much simpler I use to work as a steel fabricator so I'll just cut down a brass screw or tap a brass or copper rod and cut a slot for a screwdriver using my diamond file

I admire people that can create/ modify objects to their needs with out having to have every "tool" money can buy. My Dad was one of those people who could not visualize. If he had a project, he would buy every bell and whistle or he could not deal with anything.

I have been around others that see a problem, they asses it, and "find" what they can use to make something work.

I've found out that it's not good to use an abrasive on any of the contacts either use alcohol first then metal Polish which is slightly abrasive lately I've just used a light cleaning or contact oil such as wd/40- - 3&1 oil or marvel mystery oil and a brass brush and a cotton rag

Cant go wrong with any of those.... great devices , outstanding customer service , at least with the GUS, or PAPs ( GP ) I dont have any Glas devices, so I cant say how their customer service is like...
