Surprising Camaraderie between Vapers

I realize that this comes as no surprise to many of you just figured I'd share...

I took my Wife, 6 year old daughter and 6 year old niece (daughter's "bestie" lol) to a local theme park this past week for 2 days. While I was there I noticed a great deal of other vapers walking about of all lifestyles. It really surprised me at how many people were vaping openly and with no negative repercussions from anyone else. What I also found to be indifferent is that I'm not normally the type of person to just strike up conversation with strangers but vaping seemed to draw the reservations right out of us... It was like vaping created that common bond that many of us spoke and talked like we'd been friends for years, while comparing devices and juices and experiences...

The Vaping community truly is a group of unique people who seem to be able to look over differences and can bond almost instantly simply due to vaping.... Also I thank many of you for welcoming me into this community so well, I'm looking forward to learning quite a bit and also contributing to the education of other new members seeking help in the future.

Congrats Jake!!!! You're coming on that 1st month without the stinkies. I'm glad you have the chance to be around for your daughter much longer!

Thanks @rolltidevaper it means alot to me to have been able to put them down, and so easy too! I'm sure without Vapor I'd be having a much harder time but I'm not even tempted now... My daughter has been a great push towards me wanting to quit and I must say i feel ALOT better without them now... My next course of action will be to get my weight under control... Yikes! Maybe I should get some really good tasting food type vapors and see if that helps my temptations to eat lol!

Some folks have reported that vaping sweet and candy flavored juices has helped them cut back on the snacks. Either way, congrats on making the switch.

Yep, we vapers are a close knit bunch.

Nearest I see to it in the non vaping world are the Cigar Aficionado's talking about their favorite stogies and tobacco blends, cutters, humidors and lighters.

But we are much less stuck up and don't stink up the surrounding areas!

Bulk E-Juice makes some tasty flavors for your sweet tooth.

Chocolate Covered Cherries, Romance (chocolate covered strawberries), Vanilla Custard and Eggnog are my favorites.

There is also the distinct possibility that when your sense of smell and taste comes back at some point after you quit the stinkies, that you realize whoever has been doing the cooking at your house is in fact a lousy cook and dieting will take care of itself!

@UncleRJ I'll have to check them out... I have been vaping on my local shop's supply but having tried just one other shops juice I'm convinced that it get's much better than what I'm used to so I'm in the market for new juice. Thanks for the recommendations I'll be getting some soon to try

I don't have any vaper friends, other than here anyway. But what I've seen here the community is strong, and most folks truly understand the health benefits and try to share vaping if for no other reason than to help smokers find something better.

This has been my experience as well. After the weather got nice my neighbor and I were talking and I lit up a cigarette. He, being a vaper, started slowly convincing me to make the switch. Shortly after that, I had the chance to hang out with a old childhood friend and he was vaping and kept on me to stop in a shop and learn more. All of the shops that I have stopped in are staffed by great people of all walks of life that want to help you find the perfect vape....and sell you cool stuff. My local shops have great places to sit, try new juices, and just be people.

Since switching over, I have noticed a few things. One, smokers want to know more about vaping and have a lot of questions that I don't mind answering (when I can). One common question is about the stuff that you can buy at the gas station of which I tell them not to waste their money and spend a bit more on something that truly satisfies. Two, other vapers want to know what you're running. My wife and I went to see a friends band this past weekend and they were playing outside on a deck overlooking the river. The bar back who stopped by our table to grab our empties asked me about my wattages, ohms, and juices. Nice guy and we had a good chat about gear and the local shops. And three, just like the OP at the amusement park, I was out of town for work and popped into a casino to see if I was lucky that day. Ended up at a roulette table with a couple that were vaping away. As soon as I started vaping we started talking and the conversation became more about kids and house repairs than vaping or gambling. This really is a great community full of terrific people who are happy that they kicked smokes to the curb and want to see other smokers do the same.
