Tank for vtc mini? Crown was underpowered....

After borrowing a friend's cuboid to use with my crown I've come to the conclusion the crown needs 90-110w to shine and so I'm looking to buy a new 150w mod for my crown but also looking for another tank to match to the vtc mini.

Flavor is the only importance to me, not too concerned with clouds or anything else, also have never done anything like building a RDA but it will peak my interest if that's where flavor excels but would prefer premade coils for now.

I run my Herakles tank on my mini at 60w. Works great. What kind of coil do you have in the crown? That will determine what wattage

I started off with the .5 SS and ran that up to about 55-60w and flavor just didn't seem to be there, plenty of vapor though and I could ckloud up a room in seconds.so I read up online and see the majority seem to think the .25 coil for some reason produces more flavor so I gave it a shot and sure enough it seems that way. Unfortunately, the vtc mini even at 75w didn't seem to push the .25 coil to where I wanted to be so I borrowed a friend's cuboid to try and through more watts at it and it seems to shine above 90w and I prefer it at 105w-110w which leads me to where I'm at now with the above question.

If flavor is all you are interested in go take a look at the goblin mini, it's kinda hard to build on cause the deck is tiny but flavor is great!

My Herakles v2 with a .4 coil and my Clieto with a .4 are wonderful on my v2 at around 55-55 watts.

My Crius was great too with a .6 at 45 watts.

No but once you get wicking down its easy, watch Grimmgreens video his wicking method works great, I've been using it about 4 months that way.

I was not a fan of the cleito at all, I used mine for a week before it made its way to my tank/rda graveyard......

My wife runs a clieto on her ipv mini and it works very well but flavor is not up to crown standards. Surprisingly good cloud production for the size of the coils bore though

You are right the Crown .25 really does not start to hit until you go above 75w in tc. The Ni200 coils I run at 85w. I like both coils the .25 has a cleaner taste to it but the Ni200 coils seem to last longer.

I run my Crown coils (the 0.25) at 60 watts in wattage mode and get loads of flavor! (I always look for flavor over clouds:D) I've not found a tank with premade coils that give better flavor than the Crown, but the Wotofo Steam Engine comes pretty close - I also run that at 60 watts (which is close to the max for their coils).

Curious, single or dual cell mod? To me running the crown ~60w on a single cell mod is not the same as running ~60w on a dual cell mod.

I own one single cell mod and the Crown just runs like crap on it. The rest of my mods are dual or triple cell.

This right here! Now I'm new to vaping and all... but borrowing my friends cuboid has opened up an entire new level of flavor for me and I was about to just give up on it entirely. Currently vaping Hometown Hero's "White Girl" (Pumpkin Spice Latte) and finally pulling some pumpkin/coffee flavor from it.

Now I'm on the hunt for my own 150w+ mod, eyeing up the cuboid, Siegel 150+TC or ipv5

I would suggest a Herakles V1 for your VTC mini. Tastes great with either kanthal or Ni200 coils. 15 bucks at vapenw.
For a dual 18650 device, the Vaporesso Tarot VTC 200 has come down from $89.00 to less than $50 in the past month. Might be worth checking out..(vapenw also)

Vaporesso Tarot VTC 200 looks nice, are they a good quality brand? 18650? Upgradeable firmware? Sorry for all questions but if you've used one compared to others I'm curious

I have had my hands on a couple at the local Vape shop. It feels great in the hands, and the carbon fiber body looks amazing. It does all wires, but not upgradeable. It is smaller and lighter than my Sig Fuchai. Vaporesso is a huge Chinese company that makes mods and tanks for other companies (check Phil Busardo's video on his visit to the plant on youtube) besides their own stuff. The VTC 200 is a high quality device, and like I said, for the price, it's one of the best IMO. (dual 18650 mod)

Me too, but I'm using an XCube II. After going through several mods and tanks I've found that 60 watts on one doesn't necessarily equal 60 watts on another. For example, 30 watts on my Sig mini is about the same as 22.5-25 on my Smok. Until it went kaput, 27 watts on my iStick 40 was about the same. I'd take the last poster's advice and look for one of the deals on an iPV 5. I just saw one for $35. I'll find the link and post it in a sec.

Whatever you get make sure it's firmware updateable. I run the Crown tank on an Evic mini using the ni200 coil it is a great pair. I compare all tanks to the Crown and few come close. Have you tried the ni200 coil and have you done the updates to your vtc mini?

Good point about firmware since the vaporesso and seigel 150w TC that I was eyeballing do not seem to have it...also would prefer a mod that supports TC with SS

No I have not tried that coil just based on most people saying flavor is cleaner off SS or Ti.

The new Sig 213 does SS and is upgradeable.

I highly recommend the aspire cleito for the VTC mini. The .4 ohm coil is perfect for that mod. Decent clouds, great flavor, and airflow for days. They also are releasing an RTA, and have recently released .4 ohm SS coils for temp control that I have on order

Best advice I have is to get an RDA if you're after flavor. Get a Velocity Clone, easy to build on and you can find one pretty cheap. Start off with 26 gauge kanthol or better yet get some pre-made Clapton wire.

If you dont get good flavor from the crown then you need to move to RTAs. I have all kinds of subtanks and they dont even come close to the flavor on the crown. I run the .5 coils at around 40-50 watts and it is amazing. Go with a Boreas or Aromamizer supreme

Any chance you own or have tried the crown? As a matter of reference to crown vs cleito

I have not. My points of reference are an ego one mega (hated it), an Atlantis 2 (love it), and my cleito. The cleito is in a different league with the clouds and flavor. Still love the Atlantis and they have plenty of coils to try based on compatibility.

I have 2 crowns, and the clieto. I prefer the clieto for an airier draw, i find the flavor to be on par with the crown if you close the airflow down a bit. Others will probably disagree.

I run the clieto on my vtc mini with the .4 coils from 35-50 watts depending on my mood. Been happy with it. As for clouds-id say the crown is better but at a certain point, enough is enough, who am I trying to impress? My dog?
