Terminology and Battery Info

Terminology:
What does VTC stand for?
For instance, the Sony VTC4 or VTC5...
I'm just curious as to what they stand for in general, thank you.

When I see
"INR18650-25R"
I'm aware of what INR and 18650 are for, but I'm completely oblivious as to what the 25R stands for. Could anyone please explain that to me too?

These are just letters the company chooses as model numbers. It's the same as asking what an Acura "NSX" stands for or what Boeing "737" stands for.

There is sometimes some meaning to it. For example the 25 in Samsung stands for 2500mAh and the R gives a general idea of the battery's purpose. R series are the highest drain ones. But that's specific to Samsung. As far as I know VTC just means it's a high drain battery for Sony, and then they put a number after it that is arbitrary.
