TFV4 is a Beast

Well I finally did it yesterday. As part of my celebration of Michigan's domination of Northwestern (Go Blue), I decided to open up my TFV4. A little backstory. It's the first tank I've had that takes prebuilt heads since a Protank 2 back in Mesa lol. I fired up the Tri coil head that came preinstalled and my first reaction was: HOLY SHIT, this thing is a Beast. The build quality is very good on mine. Smooth threads, sturdy, top fill works like a charm.

I usually use Billow V2's at around 30 watts. They are great imo, excellent taste, lots of vapor. I started out the TFV4 at 30 watts and nothing. I thought maybe I have a bad coil. I start increasing the wattage until I get to around 60. Hmmmm, we have life. I can easily vape this at 75 until my head starts to spin :D. So far, no dry hits, no leaking. The only thing that stops you is the need for oxygen and, oh yeah, the tank is empty again :p. This thing throws out a ton of vapor and with great taste to boot. It's an absolute beast.

Honestly, I think this is a tank everyone should try at least once. I'm not sure if it's an all day tank, especially with the 3 headed monster. Sometimes too much is just too much (good thing I DIY :)). I am quite impressed with the early returns though. I still need to throw a Ni200 coil on the included RBA deck before I go head over heels :p. Mine came with a 3 coil head, 4 coil head, RBA deck, spare glass, cotton, orings, plus 2 Vape bands. Really a nice package. I'll try to get some pics up later with it sitting on a few mods next to a Billow for size comparison. Hope everyone is having a Great Day!

Cheers,
Steve

Fast Tech lost mine. Sending another one. Pisses Me off. I Got a Uwell Crown to have the best choices. Drippers are a home method of love for me. Quiet time. This Artic Horizon hits like a mule. Huge clouds, & nice flavor. IMG_0084[1].JPG Wrong pic.

So then... If your main goal isn't to become a fog machine... Is there a point to the TFV4? Just cause you said everyone should try. I already believe it gives good taste and vapor. But if you don't use the triples and quads cause it is too much for ADV, and "turn it down" with duals, is there something about it that makes it good to have? Over the Crown?

What is the best dropper going these days? I don't think I care about dripping for quality, I already have that. But I was thinking it might be nice to not have a tank to go through. On the spot stuff. It has me interested. Don't mean to hijack, but you mentioned a lot. Congrats on the tank.

This tank has something for everyone. To be quite honest, I personally think the Ni200 and Ti coils are awesome, and the limitation to them is currently the devices out. Ramp up time is slow across the board. When devices like the Xcube mini hit the market, bringing adjustable initial resistance into the fold, ramp up time will decrease and the TF-Ti and TF-N2 coils will be awesome.

If you aren't into crazy clouds, I would still say try the TF-S6. The resistance is 0.4 and you don't need to apply a ton of wattage. Maybe 60 or so watts for an awesome vape!

Well it's not my only tank. My main tanks that I use are 2 Billow V2's, mainly in TC. The point for me was, I wanted to try a Subtank, wanted it to have a RBA deck included, wanted something I could throw a little power at if the mood suited me, and the price was right. I'm not sure how it compares to the Crown because I haven't tried one yet. Overall I'm impressed with it so far. I only started using it Saturday night and only the Tri-Coil.

As Origin Vape said, this tank has something for everyone as far as coil head options goes. It even has 2 different RBA decks (only the single coil was included in my kit). I'll tell you if you do feel like chucking some serious clouds, this will do the trick (especially the 3 head). I just haven't had a lot of time to mess with it yet.

to sum it up and I've only had it a very short time. I like the tank, I think it has some very unique heads. I'm not sure I would want it to be my only tank. It's a touch big. I'm not ready to give up my Billows yet. I think it's a great tank to have in the collevtion

Somehow my above reply got included in the quote. Lets try it again.

Cool. I'm not sure have a place for it. If anything I might give a dropper a try.

Those are sweet-looking setups, Steve. I have been curious about the TFV4 but am thus far happy with what I have.

I believe a number of people get into the sub-ohm tanks for the near-dripping flavor combined with the convenience of keeping the coil fueled with several mils of e-liquid. At least, this is the impression I have gotten.

In my own humble experience, My lack of dexterity combined with eyesight unsuited for close-up work makes wrapping coils difficult. Once I get my little shop set up with a lighted magnifier, I'll try it again. Then you'd better watch out double-dragon pancake clapton beasty nuclear wasp-sting coils! Until then, tanks allow me to enjoy a most satisfying vaping experience. Hmmm ... factory triple and quad coils, huh?

Thanks for the compliment on the setups, very much appreciated. The triple coil is a sight to behold. It's not just 3 coils in parallel (screwed around themselves). There are actually 3 different vertical columns inside the head. Each one houses it's own coil. The heads themselves aren't small either ;) . Here's a link that goes more in depth in the coil selections that are available for this tank: TFV4 Coils.

And, unmentioned save for the linked article, a new level of expensive. That has influenced my hesitation with regard to this tank.

I got the complete kit for less than $30 delivered. I realize the coils aren't cheap, but I'm a builder at heart. On top of that, there's always sales to look out for on the coil front. Not every tank will suit everyone's needs though.

Cheers,
Steve
