TFV8 bad tastes

Hi,

My setup is : Wismec RX200 (whit the firmware for 250W), and a TFV8 whit the TFV8-T6 Coil.

It's my issues whit vape since the beginning, and it's probably something i'm doing wrong. My coil don't be long to give bad taste (like dry hit, but less pronounced) or bad flavor taste. I need to change coil in 2-3 day to get away of this issues. Same thing was happened whit a Kanger Subtank or Aspire Cleito in the past.

I only vape Max VG e-juice. The most of the time it's 80/20, but now it's 85/15. I vape around 110-120w, and approximatively 15-20ml a day.

To prime my coil, first i clean my subtank (remove glass, put some water to clean, and dry), after take a towel, and clean the base, and the tunnel. After that, put my new coil, fill the thank whit e-liquid, and wait 30 minut before vaping. After the delay, close the airflow, take a puff without firing, and firing without puffing one time. The initial wattage i use it's the coil minimum recommended setting (110W for T6). After 2-3 day, and 60ml later, the coil doesn't give tasty flavor.

I read many thing in this forum, and other one, that a coil can be good for 1-2 week. It's certainely a thing i'm doing wrong explain that.

Thank for your advide !

Dude, the coil head is dead....
Your not doing anything wrong, that's normal with CLEAROMIZERS!!
Sometimes you get good coils sometimes you don't!

Try priming the coil with juice before you put it in. Don't push the coils to the rated limit. That will give them a burnt taste faster. Believe it or not like 70 watts is usually good. You will still get good clouds and flavor at that wattage and your coils will last longer.

Other than changing your coil the right way, not much you can do.

You are running those coils HOT. They won't last weeks. That's why people that typically like high watts, use RDA's. They are easier to get going again, and cheaper.

Ever think about going RTA, so you can just change the cotton when it gets funky on ya

As stated above, you are pushing your coils to their limits (and beyond) with your wattage. Higher VG juice will also kill coils quicker than higher PG. My advice would be to get the RBA deck for that tank and build your own coils. This way all you have to change is the cotton as the coils themselves can last months.

I get about 10 days out of my tfv8 coil, btw 110 watts is not the bottom end of the watts for that coil thats its bottom recommended vape range.I think the coil starts firing at 50 watts. that is where i start breaking the coil in and work up to 100+ wats over about 30 min of vape time

I use the T8 coil and they last about a month of heavy vaping for me. It could also be your juice. Super sweet juices cake up and burn on coils. With the premade coils you're ass out and can't clean them. With the rebuildable deck, you can at least remove the cotton, clean the coils and put in new cotton. I think the others were right in suggesting you try the rba deck on it. I have noticed a lot of inconsistency with Smok's replacement coils for the TFV8. Some are great and last forever and other suck right out of the gate.
