TFV8. Did anybody get one yet?

I never had metallic tastes with kanthal coils on both my TFV4 24MM diameter sized big tanks. Though, I never used temp control. I don't see what it'll do for me because I get cooler vapor with triple coils and warmer vapor with quad coils. Wattage handles the whole thing for me. I like it's simplicity and definitely would avoid Ni coils because Ni isn't good to add to your body in great amounts so the less extra uneeded exposure the better. SS would be my guess as a biology major...for healthiest TC coil material.

I just got my TFV8 yesterday, so far I'm loving it. Coils are much improved, better flavor. Fits perfectly on my RX200.

Once I've had a full day with it I'll let you guys know if my opinion changes.

Only negative right now is that my oring less drip tip didn't fit with the standard drip tip adapter.

HOLY MOLEY...replacement coils seem to be running around 7-8 bucks each :cuss2: Sounds like a really great tank, but that much for coils, WOW!

That's a bit more money than I thought TFV8 coils would cost. I was thinking just under 6 bucks but given this truth, the original TF-T3/TF-T4 coils should be $1.75 cheaper each now. I honestly have NO interest in the TFV8. I read more and more about it and I enjoy the full 24.5mm diameter 5ml capacity tank and .2ohm triple coils after they've been properly settled in with the max VG liquid. I found it takes me an hour's wait time before the classic triple coil performs the way it's made to and satisfies me more than anything else except I do also find the rare subohm tank called the Stentorian Steam Engine (uses .25 dual SS 316 NON TC {wattage mode only compatible coils}). Most importantly it produces vapor that rivals the most insane cloud chaser coils solf for TFV4 subohm tanks. Plus as a bonus, the coils are sooo rare however dirty cheap for a box of them, and lastly, ,25ohm SS coils may seem like they couldn't compare to .15ohm TF-T4 coils made for vapor but that is definitely not the case. Apparently however or whatever those stainless steel VW coils are made like, they have come a long way. Perhaps such a high resistance (.2ohms and .15ohms for example) coils aren't needed anymore, maybe the companies are learning new techniques that are just iduuno... the clouds are just....has to be seen to be believed this tank, man.

If so, how is that bad boy?

i love my smok tfv8 subtank. the octo coil that comes in the tank already is awesome! it says the coil is rated at 260w max but it vapes best between 100-180w for me. the tank goes through juice fast but honestly, that it something i can live with because i get great flavor and clouds off of this tank! plus i only paid $30 plus shipping for this tank. i highly recommend this tank.

I have 2 arriving tomorrow. I'll let you know. I never had an issue with a TFV4 and any of my 4 RX200's. I did get the metallic taste but replacing the stock tip with a Third Eye Delrin tip fixed that. I'm anxious to get these tanks. They should be awesome.

Yes it's worth getting if you like the TFV4.
I've already vaped two tankfuls of juice tonight (that's easy to do with this!) and I have to say this is easily my new favorite heavy hitter. I can turn it down to 60W and it has the flavor and clouds like the Crown at 75. And the vape is much cooler than the Crown. At 80W each coil is getting 10W (theoretically) so the watt density is very low. Purr like a kitten, lasts longer!

And if you want to put out ridiculous clouds it's just a quick jump in wattage. Even at 140W (Octuple coil) this thing is amazing. Super dense and flavorful and not really getting hot. The tank bottom gets quite toasty though.

These easily bests my Smok TF-RTA G4 with four 26/32 claptons, five wrap/3mm mandrel. The RTF-RTA gets piping hot. This thing can go much further!

I've used it on the following mods: Laisimo L3, Tugboat DNA200, Vaporshark DNA200. And on all mods I've vaped it WOT at 200W. Absolutely effortless with no hint of feeling like it's getting dry or the flavor is starting to twist because the coils are just too hot, etc.

The 510 pin protrudes enough that this could be used on a hybrid mech and at .15Ω a single tube should produce satisfactory results. Just don't put it on a series mode like a cricket. That would be quite foolish.

Anyone check out the RBA that comes with the TFV8? It's fitted with a pair f fused claptons, very nice indeed. Can't wait until it's time for a coil change up.

So to recap you basically get the flavor class of Herakles/Cleito/Crown with clouds, clouds, and more clouds! Even better is the fact it has such a wide range. For example my VCMT 30mm with a crazy build produces these kinds of clouds BUT it ramps up slow unless you hit it with 150W and then it feels like it's getting out of control and the wattage needs to be backed down to a more comfortable level, etc. I've picked this up cold and pull at 60W and get a nice hit.

I do expect the coils to be expensive for a while, it's a brand new device and the coils are HUGE!

I got an email from them saying that was the price, but as of this post, they have not updated their site to reflect that, maybe tomorrow?

Love my tfv8 blk, came in last week that rba is the shit, and the build that came with it is pretty nice as well, airflow is ridiculous it's like breathing when fully opened. Flavors is much improved , as always stock coils are power hungry (who cares right) and the coils are as big as my thumb nearly! Mainly got it for the rba , to be an rta for me so coils price really isn't a big deal,(though only in 3 packs so far)surly they'll make more coil options as always, with the builds they put in the rda they should sell pre made coil options for rda deck.?

I just got this tank Friday and just using the quad coil over the weekend. This is my favorite tank so far. I have ordered a second one.

Anyone build on the rba deck yet? If it turns out to be easy to wick without leaking, I can see the tfv8 as a good all in one tank.

I like the way rda's perform, but I'm not that much of a flavor conoissor, and dripping all day is not for me. The tfv8 could go from pre built to rba if coil availability goes downhill with the regulations.

Otherwise, the tfv4 would be sufficient for me, with the huge variety of coils.

Building is easy and wicking is as well the wicking holes are about as big as some airflow holes on rdas

I just saw an ad from Ecig Avenue for one of these at $29.99. The amazing part was a 3 pack of coils is going for $11.99, but they are all sold out for now. I might just pick one up and order a bunch of coils at that price. Haven't seen coils near that cheap anywhere else.

EDIT: Couldn't resist after seeing the 15% July4th coupon code and ordered 2 for $50.98. Since I stocked up on juice during the Memorial Day sales, this just goes towards my July vaping budget :slowclap:

I've had my 4 TFV8's for about a week. So far they are awesome. Cloud production and flavor are amazing. They make my TFV4's seem weak by comparison. I ordered a few more 3 packs of the V8 coils from VapeNW yesterday. Real juice hoga but what do you expect when you Vape up around 160? Absolutely love these tanks.

Not sure how you're ordering from them, their site says out of stock.
Otherwise I would have ordered one more black and two stainless from them yesterday.
Not found too many that ship form the states that actually have it in stock.
(except those whose markup is ridiculous)
While I wait for others to get them back in stock I had to order from vapingproduct.com
So I had to pay a few $ more.

My order for coils went through. My TFV8's got credited back.

That sucks. Paris at VapeNW just told me it will be about a week and a half. They didn't expect to sell as many as they did. Glad I got a bunch already.

But the good news is I got 3 of the 3 packs of V8 coils and their last 30ml unicorn bottles on the way! With 20% off, the 3 packs were like $12. That's a good deal.

The sad thing is, I don't NEED anything.
But with the sales going on I WANT to buy something.
If I wait until I need it, the price will be lower than the sale price.
Then again, if I waited until I needed anything, it'd be 2 years from now due to all the stocking up I've done.

I tend to get 90% of my coils from Sweet-Vapes.
Between price and arrival time, they seem to work the best for me.
If I hadn't just received a $350 order of coils I would order some.
I'm pretty stocked up for the vapocalypse.
2 years worth of flavors, PG, and NIC.
Plenty of stock of coils for every tank I have.
Currently that is 34.
At least until my TFV8, Herakles RTA-2, Horizon Cerakoat, and Horizon Phantom come in.
Most in Stainless and black.
See, I was looking so hard to find things to buy that I had to order tanks that aren't even that great.
haha
Don't even remember why I ordered the Cerakoat and Phantom.
Either read something I liked or was bored.
Hard to tell these days.
As for the Herakles RTA-2.....pffft, I'm NOT an RTA user so I have no idea why I felt I needed that one.
Maybe I'll try to get on one of those PIF box lists and donate it.
Actually, that isn't a bad idea.
I have all kinds of duplicates, even duplicates of items I don't use.
Some haven't even been opened.
Never know, maybe there'd be something good to trade.

I picked up a TFV8 on a whim, from VapeNW, when I saw a post about the discounted VT133's. I'm really glad I did. I've been a Crown user and advocate for about three month and I've been vaping for about six. I really thought I'd already found my ideal tank with the Crown. It was so much better than the handful of tanks I had tried before happily settling on it. But the TFV8 has truly impressed me! Granted, I'm still on my first couple fills but I can't believe how much flavor there is. It's hard to imagine much better for me, but as a disclaimer I am fairly limited in terms of my exposure to tanks. It also hits as easily as simply taking a breath with the air slits open and still delivers a very cool vape at 120 watts. Though it's still too early to say anything conclusive, I'm optimistic for sure. Obviously, it does guzzle juice. Luckily, I'm learning the ropes on mixing my own e-liquid so that's a negligible drawback for me. I'm guessing it's going to stay in heavy rotation as a house tank.

I've been vaping for a bit longer (about 5 years) and I continue to see tanks come out on a regular basis that just impress me.
Once I think to myself that there can't be any more flavor, a new tank comes out and proves me incorrect.
The Stentorian Steam Engine is a great example. The airflow was ridiculously free. Then a picked up a CCI Triforce 30mm tank.
All the newer vapers have been able to skip so many steps that some of us have had to take to get here.
That isn't a bad thing, I just look at my display shelves in amazement of all the different devices I've gained during this great learning experience.

I started close to 6 years ago with a Prodigy V1 and a cartomizer. Lol. My first real tank was a Kanger Aerotank.

That's very cool! It makes me think about the future products that haven't even been thought up yet. Coils that last for months and use half the juice, perhaps??? Who knows? Things really are still moving forward aren't they?

I'm loving the tfv8. Got one in ss and black. Only con for me is that the top can be a little stiff when it's time to refill which is a lot since I don't let it go below the top wicking ports. One subjective feature is the blotchy airflow on the q4.

I just picked up this brute yesterday and couldn't be happier! I got the herkales plus, arctic v8 mini, the Rafael, and picked up a Griffin 25 top airflow a while back and the tfv8 beats them all hands down across all categories in my opinion. Just started building my own coils and the wicking with the clapton that are included with the tank is sooooo forgiving. I had trouble with the griffin trying to get the wicking right but on the tfv8 I knocked out of the park first shot! Can't recommend this tank high enough.

Indeed..the RTA works like a charm. Even the factory coils are fantastic. Besides the tanks mentioned, the Crown should also be added..it knocks the Crown out of the park too...!

I just changed the coil on my TFV4 yesterday and after a good cleaning, etc. I thought wow this thing is still great.
Then I picked up my TFV8 with the original octuple coil from the factory that's been in use since the 25th of June, probably had a dozen tanks ripped through it and well let's just say there's no comparison.

It's that feeling of driving a Porsche 911 twin turbo for a few days, then an MR2 that just got back from the shop that's nice. And then you get back into the 911 and get your right foot into those turbos...

Yeah it's that good!

As far as juice consumption. Well there's this thing called "Law of Conservation". You need lots of juice for lots of cloud. You can cut back the wattage to 70 or so and still get decent flavor and clouds too.

If I have a hard hitting build in my Able or Rig V2 (roughneck) and load it up and chain vape it will go through juice too.

A tank will seem to go even faster but it's like shooting a machine gun. It's easier to rip through ammo because there's no wait time to reload mags. Plus it's fun as hell. ;)

And finally, I have not (yet) tried the RBA since the original coil is still going strong.

But rest assured, when it's (finally) time, I'll get that badboy wicked up and will be ripping on that one too!
