The Bard's Tale IV will officially launch its Kickstarter campaign on June 2 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT, the 30th anniversary of the original game's release.
When we spoke to creator Brian Fargo previously about what to expect, he was adamant we'll be seeing traditional turn-based combat and everything that made the original great. Additionally, it's now been confirmed Fargo and team have the rights to all the assets from the original trilogy so are able to pluck at our heartstrings with nostalgic set pieces.
More details are thin on the ground at this stage, though developer inXile Entertainment has released the first bit of promo art for the title, which gives a taste of what to expect from the shift to the Unreal 4 engine.
