HP is hosting a Cyber Monday Sale that doesn't showcase too many deals, but the deals that are featured are some of the best we've seen. The HP OMEN and Pavilion gaming PCs and laptops offer some great specs at really low prices. The best thing about most of these configs is that they're customizable; you can save a ton of money and go barebones, or you can carefully pick and choose your upgrades to get the best compromise between performance and price. We expect these deals to be available through Cyber Week.
The HP OMEN 30L is HP's flagship gaming PC. It's the only HP desktop computer that can be upgraded up to a liquid cooled Intel Core i9 or AMD Ryzen 9 processor and RTX 3090 graphics. The chassis looks the part, with a full-metal frame, tempered glass front and side panels, and RGB control. Follow the directions below to get the correct specs at the prices we've noted. For some of the configs, you'll notice that the RAM and storage selections are pretty barebones. You can save some money and choose to swap those components out yourself. Or, if you want a PC that's ready to roll, you can choose your own upgrades.
The HP Victus is aimed towards the budget-conscious segment and the OMEN is for those who are willing to pay more for premium features. Both models have been discounted for Cyber Monday. Like the desktop configs, most of these laptops can be customized with your own choice of upgrades. Unlike the desktops, however, it will be harder to swap out components yourselves. If you're really set on 16GB RAM, or a 1TB boot drive, you should choose it as an upgrade or you might regret it later.
Comparing the HP Reverb G2 to the Oculus Quest 2 isn't really apples to apples since the Quest 2 is usually much less expensive and has total wireless capability. However, with one of these differences mostly removed, it makes more sense to see what you get get with the HP Reverb G2 that you don't get with the Quest. The Reverb G2 has a higher resolution display that uses two screens (one per eye) instead of a single screen that the Quest 2 uses. It also has a far more comfortable padded headstrap and superior on-ear speakers that mimics those found on the much more expensive Valve Index. The recent update improves the tracking on the Reverb G2's controllers as well. Another benefit of the HP Reverb G2: you don't have to log in with your Facebook account.
