The BOREAS RTA by Augvape and Roxy

Amidst all the controversy on the 'other' forum, the Boreas RTA has blown me away but we need to dissect this down a little.

It's basically everything that the Aromamizer should've been, but never was because of bad R&D. @roxynoodle hit it out of the park on this one. 8+ML, huge velocity deck, beautiful airflow, insane wicking properties, and just a seriously good vape.

I have mine built with my "standard" Griffin build. 2x28/38N80 dual fused Clapton 8 wraps on 3mm and these puppies look TINY on this deck. At .3ohm I get a warm dense vape with two airholes open and a cooler massive cloud with 3 holes open.

It wicks faster than I can vape. The juice flow and airflow are integrated, more air = more juice so I've noticed a teensy bit of leaking from the air holes at times.

@raymo2u I'm looking at you for a full autopsy, but I'm gonna try break it down and snap some pics if I have time after my shift is done. This thing is gonna be BIG, because it is large and well designed.

Please, guys and gals, get your hands on one of these.

I really like the looks of the tank but you are not the first person that is experiencing leaking. Are you saying there is no way to adjust the juice flow control without also adjusting the airflow at the same time? I really hate tanks that leak, probably the main reason I use my Billow V2's a lot more than my Bellus's.

In all honesty if we are going to compare it to a Supreme, it has some short comings The Supreme has a separate AFC & juice control, IMO the Supreme looks a lot better. Now with different coloured & a shorter glass for a smaller profile.
Steam Crave & BJ invented the direct to coil air flow tank! & the bottom juice flow/ wicking system. Again in all honesty a lot of design cues for this tank are right from the Steam Crave & BJ stable. So lets Not! start talking like they reinvented the RDTA & give some respect were it is due, to Steam Crave & BJ

In Roxy's thread (now deleted) @ the other place, she went into detail about wicking the Boreas and getting the best performance with no leaking. It's really a shame that the drama hit the fan just as the Boreas was reaching vapers' hands. Roxy is beside herself.

I do find it odd that they are basically the same but the JC is seperate unless Roxy was on the R&D for the Aromamizer V2 or got some hidden info leaked I dont see how it was in CAD before the Aromamizer Supreme was mentioned to the Public....is she on their board or know someone that made it?

Agreed... If wicked correctly for the vliquid ratio you use, I have found JC generally unnecessary. Having two separate build decks, with different sized liquid-feed holes, the Boreas makes easy wicking possible without incurring the added complexity and cost of JC...

From what I’ve seen on the original Roxy thread before it got deleted she liked the aromamizer but felt it had problems. She had some ideas on how to improve it so she and Augvape made her visions of what she thought would be a great RTA a reality. It happens all the time a tank comes out with flaws and another company fixes these issues and make the product that the first was supposed to be, it’s called innovation. The way Augvape is finding vapers with great knowledge of all things vaping and using their knowledge to make the dream atty they always wanted to make a reality is fucking awesome for all of us! I’m waiting to see the monster RTA that Ramo2u and Augvape are developing, it should be another hit.


So far I haven’t found anything bad about the Boreas, it’s the best I’ve had….. so far.

Im hoping that Augvape is actually moving forward with the RTA....I havent heard anything from Leon about it...The one thing with My RTA its not just a slight variation from another RTA so the Blueprints need to be draw up from scratch and not just scanned for CNC, this involves more time in its creation....If it does get produced then I guarantee all of you it will be a big contender in the world of RTA's for some time...

After I understood how the Juice control worked its pretty amazing....does anyone else take the glass and top part off to fill it???

If my thread hadn't been deleted you might have known we had a Boreas prototype before they showed the Supreme. It was just my bad luck. What was leaked on theirs didn't sound like anything I had to be concerned about. Theirs was 22.5mm with no jfc in prototype form.

I've been running 3.5s for claptons/aliens and 4mm on straight wire. I have some 4mm vertical 26 fused with 32 in one right now. Those are mammoth.

been following this thread with much interest!! Release of the black version clinched it for me, just ordered one!! So, for like 50/50 juice, use the smaller deck and close air to 1/2 hole, then invert b4 opening to desired airflow?

Build Tutorial (ignore my ugly coils; they've been rwicked more times in a week than I would normally do in months due to testing).

Step1: I cut my tails pretty long. This tank will wick anything you throw at it. I chain vaped this build at 200W with 91vg.



Step 2: due to the bushiness of the rayon I do a cut from beneath to thin my tails a bit. I do this to keep my air open. The tank has wicked whatever I've stuffed into it.



Step 3: I cut another angle off the tails near the posts. I do this on most RTAs. It helps square off the tails.



Step 4: tuck your tails under RDA style. Just lay them on the deck. My pic was snapped before I pushed it off the coil though. I was really sick that night and took the pic too early.

Filling

I've been closing the afc/jfc so only half of one airhole is open for pressure relief.



Take off top cap and fill.



I screw the top cap back on, flipping for the last turn, then open the afc/jfc to burp it.



Now I've had perfect refills when I've flipped it and let the juice in the sides of the chamber come back into the glass, then shut the afc/jfc fully. Then fill, and burp it inverted.

Never mind Roxy. I will buy your tank before I buy another Aromamizer. I will just wait for the black to be in stock somewhere. I've had some issues with the past Aromamizers. I understand the Supreme is correcting them but I trust that you have built the best RTA available. Once different colored rings and glass become available I'll be buying at least two of these.

If this is indeed better than a Griffin - which is pretty darn good - this might solve the problem of constantly buying new gear. Now the VCMT which has not been mentioned here is also a great tank. I'll have to compare the Boreas once I get my hands on one. I'll write a comparison review too and send you a link. But it will have to wait until I get your tank, lol.

What a mess I always see the posts here by people bitching about the moderation over there but now I can totally see why. You definitely have a lot of supporters over there from the looks of it. Well anyways what a damn awesome tank, can't wait to get my hands on one!!

I don't have a VCMT, but my Aromamizers are all boxed now . I don't have a VCMT either. I'm pretty broke right now so new gear is on hold, unfortunately.

I do like the Griffin a lot. But, I definitely like Boreas more. And I ordered a Supreme because I had to see it in person for myself. It may be for sale after I run it through its paces. Chances are every time I look at it I'm going to get pissed.
