Warning! This article contains spoilers from The Boys Season 3 premiere. Be sure to check out IGN's review of the three-episode season premiere.

The Boys has never been shy about its gratuitous violence or sexual exploits ever since it first premiered on Prime Video back in 2019. However, a particular scene from the Season 3 premiere featuring the shrinking superhero, Termite (Brett Geddes), might be the most shocking scene of all.

During a party, Termite accidentally explodes his partner from the inside of his penis after a sneeze causes Termite to return to his normal, full-size human self. What was supposed to be an act of pleasure turns into a bloody mess. But how did The Boys' creative team pull off this shocking moment? We spoke to showrunner and executive producer Eric Kripke to find out.

We built that penis practically, that's a real penis.

"We built that penis practically, that's a real penis," Kripke told IGN. "VFX had to skin it over a little bit and give some more human pours. That is an eleven-foot high twenty-foot long penis. That tunnel inside is really the urethra inside that giant penis. It was built at such an insane cost. It was so expensive. This is why I have the best job in the world."

We were also curious if Amazon gave Kripke and his team any pushback on this explosive moment. "No. We just kind of go for it," Kripke explained. "As long as it helps flesh out the world or has a real point in the story, [Amazon] tends to be really cool about it."
