A friend of mine is a dripper, builder and lover of all things high wattage. He had recently switched back to tanks and couldn't say enough great things about his crown tank. The flavor and cloud production made my Subtanks the equivalent of a blu cig he would joke. I figured, "what the hell" it's $35 to have a cathartic experience and still be able to pass a piss test. So I went online, ordered the tank and waited on the edge of my seat.
When I first received it I was more than impressed with the build quality, simplicity and lack of any branding. Very clean. The top fill feature also was something I very quickly came to appreciate it and wondered why this was not a standard feature on sub ohms from the jump. So after very patiently and methodically priming the .25 coil, I juiced it up, slapped it on my beloved IPV mini and prepared my self for the vaping experience of a life time.
Right off I didn't like it. There was a ton of flavor and vapor but, this might sound odd to some or even most, it was too much flavor and vapor. The flavor was more pronounced than what I was used to and my staple juice, OHW Milkman, didn't taste the way I liked it. It was not bad by any means, just not the same. Also, I normally vape at 35-45 watts so 70 was way too much for me. The air flow was also more than I would ever want or need.
After about a tank, which the crown tank greddy devoured in less than 20 minutes, I decided I'd try out the .5 coil. Same results just a bit scaled back. Aside from ravenous juice consumption, it was a battery killer. By the time the tank was empty, so was the battery. Two tanks later I made up my mind, the crown tank just isn't for me. I put it up for sale on this forum and it was sold within 5 min.
For me, the Kanger Subtanks are the perfect balance between power, flavor and cloud production. Because I still had the itch for something new to put on my IPV D2 (which should be here in a few hours) I went ahead and purchased a Subtank Plus Ni200 version. I think that will make for a nice happy medium.
Anyone else in my camp? I'd like to hear some takes on the crown tank versus the Subtank-esqe tanks.
Thanks for reading.
