After 16 years and a staggering 2,677 broadcasts, Jon Stewart has bowed out of hosting Comedy Central's seminal news satire program The Daily Show. Stewart took over the gig in 1999, replacing Craig Killborn, and has held the job ever since, redefining the political media landscape in the process (despite what his recent "Destroyer of Worlds" segment would have you believe).
But for the final time on Thursday, Stewart hosted The Daily Show -- funny enough, on the same night as the first Republican Presidential Primary Debate (oh, what have might have been if Stewart's final episode had aired on Monday) -- and we savored every moment of it.
