The Flash: "Rogue Air" Review

I suppose you can’t blame The CW for focusing all their promotion for this episode on the much-hyped team-up between Flash, Firestorm and the Arrow. It was a big selling point, even if said team-up only came near the very end and in the aftermath of a far lengthier and much different team-up. Unfortunately, these two storylines didn’t combine quite as naturally as I would have liked.

Before the proto-Justice League gathering, “Rogue Air” devoted itself to the big reunion between Barry and Leonard Snart. When last the two met, they struck up an uneasy truce that allows Captain Cold to operate in Central City so long as he doesn’t step too far over the line. And now, with the STAR Labs particle accelerator gearing up again, Barry felt he had no choice but to turn to the Snart clan for help in dealing with the incarcerated metahumans. The ticking clock element helped justify a team-up that otherwise might have been difficult to believe. There were probably several better ways to deal with the situation, but Barry simply didn’t have time. There was a sense of desperation driving this conflict that you want to see one week before the finale (one that Arrow was sorely lacking last week).
