From Blumhouse Productions -- the micro-budget movie company that brought you Paranormal Activity, Insidious and The Purge -- comes The Gallows, a found-footage horror flick written and directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing, and starring newcomers Reese Mishler, Pfeifer Brown, Ryan Shoos and Cassidy Gifford (all of whom go by their own first names in the movie). Opening in 1993, the film kicks off with a video recording of a high school play, "The Gallows," which ends in tragedy when the male lead Charlie Grimille (Jesse Cross) is accidentally hung onstage in front of a packed house. 20 years later, the school decides to revive the failed production in a misguided attempt to honor Charlie.
