Co-directors John Musker and Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog) were at the D23 Expo today to debut new footage and story details from the upcoming Disney animated movie Moana – and were joined by none other than The Rock himself, Dwayne Johnson.
We learned that the film is set 2000 years ago in the South Pacific, focused on a group of people who were the “world’s greatest navigators.” For 1000 years, they stopped their voyaging ways, only to suddenly begin again – and Moana will tell the story of why that is.
