Shark, I totally get where you're coming from when you say his polemical tone could be a detriment to the cause all by itself, but I think you're throwing the baby out with the bathwater.Peoplez... (...and please to forgive noob-rant)
We as Americans, have filled Washington and our state legislatures with liberals. (tax-happy control freaks)
That is the root you must cut.
The guy in the vid is prolly right but executes poorly.
IOW, I get that he's on our side but I would still distance myself from him
the same way Christians distance themselves from the Westboro Baptist Church.
Great post. If I weren't so damned exhausted I would respond in more detail, but for now, let me just say: Rock on, Shark Vape! You're funny and smart and well informed. If you haven't done already, you should start an advocacy/activism/educational vape blog. Or just keep posting with gusto! You've managed to whip me up a bit and I was half asleep when I started reading.I just don't see him as the incisive, quick thinking strategist and PR tactician needed here.
The vape issue is all politics now. The object is to win, not to be right.
And while I support his right to vent hysterically on the interwebz, IMO, he ain't the guy for this kinda spin:
Special Report: When it comes to e-cigs, Big Tobacco is concerned for your health
(Kinda makes ya' wanna choke somethin', don't it?)
Big Tobacco is financing bunk "studies" claiming e-cigs give off everything from formaldehyde to Agent Orange.
By election time, "scientists" are almost certain to have linked birth defects and hemorrhoids to e-cigs.
Big Tobacco (BT) has also financed quite a number of still active political careers.
'Cause they gotz them sum moneys.
Yes... the anti-vape lobby has somehow united both the libtards (tax & control) AND
the (BT beholdent) conservatards against us.
(And not one of 'em gives a flyin' fleek about right or wrong or your rights or the credibility of the evidence...)
They care about one thing... Money. <---(that's a period) Because money runs the machine.
WTF is 'Big Vape' doing? (Serious question) Do they (we) have a $10 million warchest???
Have the top 100 (I dunno, pick a number) online vape shops chimed in with $10 - 20k each???
Seriously!!! This is a billion dollar industry. I'll bet mosta' their new yachts have phones... Wot say we ring 'em up?
Anybody call China?... mebbe get some feedback from the fellas over there? They got a few bucks, right?
These are the people who have profited the most and who now have the most to lose.
We need a machine too. And machines are expensive. Have China and the big online vape retailers done enough?
I don't know. But if there were a way to know, I would lend preference to those sellers and manufacturers who've contributed substantially to the community cause, and shun those selfish profiteers who've refused to contribute.
That is where we have our power.
[/endrant]
Maybe, Smoky. But now is where we are, so now what? What are "we" (you, I, "people") going to do about this--if anything?
What are your ideas about how to respond to this as a community? This: http://stillblowingsmoke.org/?gclid...WbV8M5LjpToqrCRTU3ogX23U3mcc0aAl_b8P8HAQ#kids
