Yesterday I stopped at a tobacco/glass/vape place I'd just noticed was there, just to see what they had. Nothing that interested me--particularly at the prices they were showing [*]. A woman came in, seeking a vape solution that didn't raise vast clouds. As part of explaining How Things Work to the prospective customer, she allowed as how people had problems with internal battery vape devices because they didn't exercise proper battery care. "This is great," I thought, "She's going to explain proper battery care." She then proceeded to tell the customer every trick in the book to guarantee... shortened Lithium Ion battery life!
I bit my tongue, wished her a good evening, and got outta there.
This evening, after my workout, I stopped into a local tobacco/glass/vape place that's gotten its share of my business. After concluding my business I mentioned "It's gotta be tricky, figuring out what to stock, knowing the State Supreme Court may reverse the preliminary injunction against the governor's flavoured juice ban." "They can't do that," he confidently proclaimed. "They can't?" I asked. "Why not?" "Because a Supreme Court has already declared bans illegal," he replied. "They have? Which Supreme Court?" "New York's. And once a Supreme Court makes a decision it applies to all states." "Uhm, no. That's not the way it works. State Supreme Court decisions have no scope outside their respective states." At which point he discovered something else, more urgent, to which he had to attend.
