Thinking of taking pliers to your tank?

I was gathering with my vape friends outside of my office building. As usual, we were talking about vaping stuff, like mods, RDAs, Sub Ohm tanks, and such. One of the guys mentioned, that he had to take a pair of pliers to his tank, in order to get it of his mod, 'cause it was "frozen" to it. I thought of being in the same situation with one of my tanks. However, I didn't use pliers, but showed him, what I had used. I used the beer bottle opener of my Swiss knife. Most tank's airflow holes are wide enough to slide the hook of the opener in there, and twist it, without any harm to the airflow holes. You can use the same trick, to unscrew the bottom part of the tank, for changing a replacement coil, or rebuilding the coil(s) on your RBA, in case it got stuck.

This works on all of my tanks, with one exception, the Triton, due to it's narrow airflow holes/slits.

However, what ever you do, I'm not responsible for any damage of any kind, if this trick doesn't work for you! (JCMA! :))

I ruined a copper mech once with pliers. Quickly learned to stick a stuck vape in the freezer.

I use this thin rubber gripping pad I got for opening bottles, but in a pinch you can also just use a rubber band

I use cannon plug pliers. I still bent one side of a tank using slip jaws on the other side with rubber wrapped around it. I had to mangle it straight with needle nose. I guess I'll have to get another pair of cannon plug pliers.
