I saw merchandise for One Piece, Attack on Titan, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball during my adventures around Tokyo, but I couldn’t go a day without hearing or seeing something from Love Live! School Idol Project.
Love Live! School Idol Project features nine girls that form an idol group, μ's, in order to gain popularity for their school that’s about to be shut down due to a lack of applicants. Their story has been told through numerous volumes of manga, light novels, a movie, CDs, video games, and over two seasons of an anime.
The mobile game, Love Live! School Idol Festival, had a massive stage at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. In addition to bringing out three of the Love Live voice actresses for a special presentation, TGS attendees were also invited onstage throughout the show to play a gigantic version of the rhythm game. As of the presentation at TGS, the rhythm game has over 20 million users worldwide.
