I think it's because there is an age restriction, where most forums are flooded with kids, pre teens, and teenagers who just act like ass hats for no reason. Everyone here is pretty cool. Maturity goes a long way
It's my favorite place! With more freedom of speech also comes more warmth and friendship. We have places on here to vent and also place to just relax and spread the love. 
LOTS of great information, along with fantastic members, makes VU a no-brainer.......

If you can't find a group in here that you can easily connect with and feel right at home, it is simply because you haven't poked your head in anywhere yet.
There's MANY warm hearted intelligent people in here.
Then there's me, I'm just here to collect dust.
