Hi,

I am looking at this tank right now and I haven't done much research on ceramic coils. are they harmful? does anyone know if this chucks clouds? Im using the cleito right now is it comparable to it, cloud and flavour wise?

With the ceramic coils I have noticed you dont get as much throat hit as you do off of a traditional tank with the same juice. I love the ceramic coils because of the cleaner more pure flavor I get from them. I have been using the Krixus for a few days now and while I wont say its a huge cloud machine (at least not the way I have mine set up) but it does throw some nice clouds and great flavor. Super easy to clean the coil as you just pull the sleeve off, remove the cotton and dry burn til its white. Wrap new cotton around the coil twice slide the cap back on and boom back in business. I personally am loving the Krixus tank. Best price I have found on them in the US was EcigAvenue not sure if they still have them on sale or not but to me definitely worth the money.

I mean it doesn't have to be as big as TFV4 or crown clouds just something comparable to the cleito would be nice. and do the ceramic coils really last 6 months?

I havent had mine for 6 months so that I dont know. I do know it does in fact clean up to like new looking with a dry burn and I am using the cleito with the .4ohm coils and I am loving them both. Liking the krixus more because i dont have to keep buying coils though lol. I cannot stand the .2ohm coils in my cleito though. For some reason they are to harsh and dont hold up as well as the .4ohm. I would say the krixus is a hair better flavor wise then the cleito and both are comparable cloud wise

I found that my .2 ohm coils were way better then the .4 ohm coil. My .2 ohm coils lasted way longer as well. Can the krixus really crank up to 120W? does it eat juice like the cleito ?

yeah i would say my juice consumption is about the same. I dont know I tend to run my tanks lower then most. The coil says starting is 60watts but I am running mine at 45 watts. I think its possible to run it in temp control to I had found the TCR which was along the lines of .00452 (not sure about the 2) but I have not messed with it in temp mode yet or tried cranking it to 120.

I don't know if @Scuba might be around and can answer that? If no one answers between now and his next show I will try to remember to ask him. I know he has one of the Krixus and he has most likely tried cranking it that high.

I'm liking my krixus a lot, I do find running it at 70-75 watts gives me better vapor and less ramp up time getting the coil hot. Will have to try running it lower at 45w to see how that is. Flavor is great! I have tried messing with it in temp control on my ipv5 with little luck, however for some reason my snowwolf will only recognize the coil in temp mode and somehow it works amazing!?! So not sure what the deal is there, but damn it works great! I haven't changed out the cotton yet, but have put roughly 60mls through it (sugar cookie from yougotejuice) and it still tastes like day 1.

Overall I think it is a great tank, super easy to use, well built and a solid performer. Don't think you can go wrong for the $25 you'll spend.

its not been out very long at all. Its still in preorder at alot of places. As for the ceramic I cannot say if its good or bad but they are all saying they have MSDS sheets on it and that it is not harmful.

any problems with the coil itself? I've read else where that sometimes they are just a dead coil

not with mine or my bff has one and she has had no issues. Getting the cap on after you change the cotton is a slight learning curve but not bad. I peeled the top and bottom layer off the cotton strip and started wrapping it a hair higher then the bottom of the coil and the cap slid on pretty easy after that. It says to wet the wick but I wasnt sure what juice i was gonna put in there when I did it so I went in dry lol

i can only compare it to those ceramic coil heads of the target tank i had put in the morph tank
to try such type of coils out and the airflow on the krixus is much better so i can use it as well on
higher temprature to reduce ramp up time.my personal sweetspot is around 150w so the krixus
coils i run at about 115w are a little bit too cold for me but its a nice vape anyway. The only thing
that bothers me is that the 510 pin is just pressed in and looks cheap. And be aware that the tank
or the glas gets realy hot.

I'm interested in trying ceramic but I just don't trust it yet. I know some study was recently done on the C-cell coils but IMO it was not very convincing. That being said, the Krixus looks very interesting and from what I hear it works quite well. The SX Pure tank by IPV is also coming out soon and it uses a system similar to the Altus tank which recently flopped. I'm hoping they have worked out some of the issues, don't charge and arm and a dick for it and include a spare glass.

i am indeed running mine in Tc mode using a tungsten tcr profile .0045 from steamengine. or from the joytech side 450 from what i have read.
at least with the krixus anyway. the dolphin is power mode only due to the kantal in the element. i will also point out that the air flow is better and top fill better on horizon tech approach.

the ohm will change just lock in your cold ohms and vape away i get great clouds and good flavor.

Why cant they keep it the same way with the .00XXX. Makes me kinda feel stupid but am I correct in thinking when trying to set the tcr for tungsten on the istick 100W TC that I would set it to 40 or 45? This is what I find in the manual

Following are different TCR value ranges for different coils for your reference:
Material Nickel Titanium NiFe SS(303,304,316,317)
TCR Value Range 600-700 300-400 300-400 80-200
Note: 1.The TCR value in the sheet is 10 multiplied of the actual TCR.
2.Our total range of TCR value is 1-1000.

I have to be doing something wrong because I cannot get my krixus to work in TC mode :(

You can range in temperature from 200F to 600F, and fire down as low as 0.05Ω while in TC mode, and fire down to 0.1Ω in VW/Bypass mode.
the actual tcr of tungsten .00450 so i believe it would be 0450 or 450. have not tried the v3 programing on my rx200 with the krix yet.

try 45 first and if not then 450 at least you can rewick it :D if i am wrong.

OK I lied I am a glutton for punishment so I tried it anyways lol. Figure I can live for 45 minutes without a vape if I did mess it up lol. 0450 seems to be working with temp at 450 and 60 watts. Now I can test drive it like this for a while see which i like better wattage or temp mode. Ty

Does anyone have these who also loves the Crown with the 0.25 ohm coils? Would love to hear how it compares!

The crown was ok but not my favorite tank but I am in love with the krixus

I can't really judge if you didn't like the Crown! What didn't you like about it? I've found it the best flavor I've ever had out of a tank with the 0.25 coils at around 60 watts.

it was ok for flavor and cloud production. I didn't like how hit and miss the premade coils were for it. Some were fine and some were horrid for the first tank through them.

again Same. sadly the Clieto tank is the same way for me. TFV4 might just need a good hot water bath

Ok, you got me - I love the Crown but I only get 2 days max out of a coil, sometimes one (30-60 mls). Ordered:D

I stopped buying Crown coils because they would not last but dear God, 2 days max? Is this your main tank? That would get expensive really fast!

Not really - I always find them on sale, so compared with smoking it's a nothing LOL But it's annoying!

Got my Krixus today - so far I'm really impressed! But I'll have to rewick the coil that came with it, because the first thing I did was to accidentally pull off the top and the cotton got all messed up LOL I just popped in the other coil, and the flavor is wonderful at 60 watts. I did have to change the drip tip, because that thing gets really hot (I like the jade drip tips). I tried it at 75 watts, but the juice just got too hot for my mouth:eek:

Not sure what is going on with my krixus atm moment but I rewicked it over the weekend and after rewicked I started issues with my istick 100W TC constantly asking me if it was a new tank. I finally turned off the temp control and am just running it in wattage mode. I have noticed the ohms keeps going up little by little and not dropping when it cools off. Gonna take it apart and inspect the coil once I get this tank vaped out of it.

Ok, I've had this a few days, and it's going in a drawer :-( One coil is being replaced by MVS, because it kept reading 'no atomizer.' The second coil was fantastic for a few hours when it needed rewicking (yes, the cotton and coil were black). I've rewicked this thing at least a half dozen times, but I cannot get the flavor/vapor or draw of the original wicked coil - and it constantly gurgles. The ceramic is crooked, which makes me wonder if that's the issue. When I used the original coil it was fabulous, so I can see the idea of ceramic is a winner, but as of today this is a huge disappointment.

I agree with you, I have noticed one of my coils is slanted as well and doesn't glow evenly when dry burned. Additionally I have tried rewicking several times with both the included cotton strips and others I cut and have had no luck getting the tank to perform like before, constant gurgling and spitting juice....

I have one brand new in box as well as the one I used, gonna probably post them in trading post to see if someone else wants to try their luck with the tank. Sucks because it is such an easy to use/fill tank with great engineering, damn coil setup is disappointing. Would have been better if they made the cotton wick part like a cover you could just slip over the top of the element....

Oh well back to the ccell and defiant ceramic coils for now...

Incredibly disappointing! I don't understand why it was so good until it had to be rewicked, and then even rewicking in a way that looks perfect it sucks!

Think I might have figured out what I did wrong with mine. I was reading and I guess when you dry burn it you are not suppose to have it higher then 20-30 watts and I was firing it at 60 so that may have sent it wonky. I put the new head in and will see how it goes. The first one I had already wicked and dry burned a couple times and it was fine but for the first couple times I was only vaping it at around 40watts

I've been dry burning mine at 29 watts - but it heats up more on one side than the other, which I think is a problem!
