I know Orbtronics are respected in other fields, if not so well-known in vaping. That said, they seem like an overly-expensive VTC4, based on the specs...

That said, I thought they stopped production on the VTC4. I have an RX200, and I'm running the Sigelei 35A batteries, and they work, but I would like a much better battery, and I can't find anything bad about Orbtronics. I paid good money for what I believe is a good mod, and I want it to perform well.

Average-performing 20A cell. Yes, 20. Runs hotter than most by comparison. https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/f...50-bench-test-results-just-a-20a-cell.688684/

Not bad batteries, but for your money, you could do better. There are 20A batteries with much better specs out there.

Honestly, a regular 20A cell is fine unless your ADV is a 150-200 watt blast. You will get equally good performance and better lifespan with 25r's, HE4's, or VTC5's. Isn't the RX200's max input current something like 25A? You're not going to hit that unless you run it in the extreme range with 2 batteries instead of 3... ...or that's what I would assume based on my limited knowledge of that particular device.

Sony, I think, wants us to think that they aren't making batteries anymore because they don't want to be associated with vaping. The latter has at least been made very clear by their responses to inquiries from the vaping community. They are diehard believers in the notion that 18650 lithium batteries are not for consumers to buy. However, the VTC line is very important in many industries.

Orbtronics has authentic vtc5 batteries for sale, at $8.99 each. The issue I have is which are authentic and which are not. I'm less concerned with $3 extra for a battery, than I am with getting duped.

You don't have to worry about getting duped if you go through the right vendor. http://illumn.com/ and http://liionwholesale.com/ both have a very good standing for good reason. They both test and examine new batches in-house in order to ensure that the actual continuous discharge rating is in line with the specs and that they are not fakes.

Illumn has gotten a bunk shipment of VTC's before and they handled the situation very well. They made a PSA across all of the major vaping hubs, got in contact with everyone who received the fakes, and reimbursed or shipped genuine ones.

Jon@LiionWholesale is a regular around here who often makes contributions to the battery section. All around stand-up guy. Very knowledgeable and straightforward. He should be happy to answer any questions you may have about his stock and testing protocols.

You can buy from either with confidence. They both care about their customers and go to every length they can to ensure that their batteries are genuine and as advertised. They also buy their batteries in huge quantities, as they supply a wide range of users, so the prices are unbeatable.

Orbtronic, I can't speak for, as I have no experience with them, but then again, I've only ever heard positive things about them.

Another seller I've gone to that tests their batteries and generally has a good standing is http://www.rtdvapor.com/. Prices are a little higher, but you can rest assured that they are legit. They have been selling batteries to vapers since vapers first started using 18650's.
