Hi there folks, today i will be reviewing the Tauren VORTEX 30 that was sent to me by my friends over at TaurenHead Creations for the purpose of this review.
Ok so FYI before i get started i just wanted to point out that i am really hyped for this review.
I mean lately all i review are pods and mods but it seems things are changing a bit,we getting more RDA/RTA and even some new squonk devices so yeah i needed this chance of pace.
We going to start with some visual aids as it is my modus operandi, some nice visual aids so you can get a quick grasp of the type of RDA i am talking about.

Unboxing and first impressions:
Kudos to ThunderHead Creations for the packaging, right out of the gate a huge plus is that it has a transparent plastic window on the front of the box so you can actually see the ''true'' color of the RDA.
Folks over at ThunderHead Creations included everything you need to get started with your setup,no cotton thou which to be honest isn't a big deal.
For those that want stats, specs and what you get here is some more info:

So ok ast 180 grams this is one serious RDA,we ain't playing games this RDA is a beast and sure seems like its going to fog up my room with just 2 puffs hehe.
Sadly for this review i can't use it in Squonker mode since i don't own a squonker big enough to not have massive overhang so i just put it on top of my Ascent 200.
Removed the cap and just admired the beauty of the inside of this RDA,perfect machining with no marks and the RDA clean as a whistle.
Looking at the airflow ring i admired the fact that it had a stopper and it also had 84 air inholes...42 on each side.
This fact i specially like because once you find your desired air flow sweet spot you can always achieve the same vaping experience.
Other RDA just don't have this which makes you have to guess where to exactly put the airflow holes,on top of that the stop is another huge pro.
Putting on the top cap of the RDA is easy peasy, just put it on and turn until it fits all the way down,i mean it can't be simpler than that.
The RDA itself looks well made and solid and i can't wait to get it all setup and see how it goes.
Vaping time:
I decided to go ahead with the 2 coils that were included in the box,3mm each and once installed they come out at 0.11 ohms.
Using the included coil leg trimmer i cut them at the recommended length and in no time i had both coils put it and stabilized correctly.
For wicking i decided to just cut the cotton at the base of the RDA,only fluffed and trimmed very lightly, you do want to fill in those 10.5mm juice wells but leaving the cotton ''fluffy'' if you know what i mean.
Just FYI i suck at wicking and i got this on my first try so yeah it all went well and i found myself in no time at all ready to give this RDA a try.
Now keep in mind i am no a dual coil user and i don't use high wattages but for review purposes i will do what i have to just so i can give you folks a good review.
Now this RDA is a beast and as such well you know it requieres serious power, after having to go up and up i settled at a measly 80 watts.
Keep in mind some fellow reviewers with the same setup have gone higher but personally i just can't vape that high, evet at 80 watts is was hard and i went crazy and took some puffs at 90 watts and oh boy does this RDA perform.
Cloud production well you know just imagine a club in Summer in Ibiza and you know what I'm talking about, flavor wise well i was really impressed.
The flavor i was getting was top notch, big clouds, good flavor and a nice think hit i mean what is there not to love about the Vortex 30.
I didn't want to do this review with some sort of feedback about the performance of the Vortex 30 in squonk mode so i called a fellow reviewer from Spain and i asked him.
The feedback i got is that it performs as good as it does in drip mode, this is one serious RDA for those that don't want to sacrifice flavor for a big cloud production because with the Vortex 30 you are getting both.
PROS:
-Top notch packaging
-You want big, sturdy and well made? then yeah Vortex 30 delivers and then some
-Easy to build
-Juice wells are huge which means that if you squonk there is a minimal chance of overdoing it
-Airflow has a stop,i mean that is what we all want
-Airflow has 84 air inholes,42 on each side which means you can actually achieve your sweet spot with pinpoint accuracy
CONS:
-Hmm no cotton? i mean not a con but i have to put something here hehe
-Not a con but just something that only applies to me,i got big juicy lips so the drip tip included just didn't work for me.
Not an issue thou,as a serious vaper i got a ton of drip tips so yeah i just got a taller one and voila!!
Would i recommend this RDA:
If you want massive clouds and good flavor you cannot go wrong with the Vortex 30 RDA from ThunderHead Creations.
I mean i was really impressed and you folks know i do low wattage and just single coil but this RDA just rocked my world.
The product is so good i couldn't really come up with any cons, the 2 i put there are basically filler so i don't leave the ''Con'' part empty lol
