I have RA in my hands, fingers and wrists so coil building is a bit tough at times. I wrap parallels so a jig isn't really useful in the fact that they can do 2 strand parallel, but there is a sense of touch that I don't have. Some of my cheats are that I use a vise to hold my wire, vise grips to wrap with, and a lot of wire. Anyone have anything they care to share that they use to help them wrap? I'd love to here from you. I want to be able to do claptons and fused claptons before I have to start buying pre-made wire and coils and losing this hobby. Thanks in advance.

I've had a lot of success making beautiful parallel coils using a Kuro Koiler. It may be worth looking into if you have limited wrist motion. You can get clone sets super cheap, but not all of them are easy to use. The easiest model is this one. You don't have to assemble it at all. The rod is permanently set into the handle, unlike newer versions.

The trick to making parallel coils on this is to make sure that the screw is a little loose. It needs to be out enough to hold both wires. Also, there is an inside hole for the screw and another hole closer to the outside. The screw should be in the outside hole if you use thicker wire. Honestly, I keep the screw in the outside hole for every wire. I hope that's helpful. All the best!
