To build new, or not to build new?

So, I just got a 30mm Buddha Z v3 and there's SO MUCH space in it, so I built a quad coil fused clapton 26/36 all Kanthal, and it hits wonderfully but the ramp up is SO RIDICULOUS. So I was thinking about just doing quad parallels with 26k, but with the 36g outter wire on the fused, IDK if that's affecting the ramp up, or if it's just the fact that it's a quad.

Would it be worth doing quad parallels with 26g to cut down ramp up time, instead of keeping my current build? Would that make a significant difference? Is it the fused claptons causing the high ramp up or the fact it's a quad? Would I be better off doing just a parallel 24g (my typical go to build) and just having a coil that seems tiny for such a massive RDA?

the more metal you have the more power you will need to ramp it up. IDK what batts you are using (hopefully good ones) and personally i wouldn't be throwing 200 watts at an atty with an RX200. You'd be fine running 2 claptons. no need for 4 of them really and the ramp up will be much better.

General rule to lower ramp up is more power or less wire. Just remember bigger isn't always better

I use 7wraps on a dual coil build with nichrome 80. Ramps up insanely quick on a mech and that's a single battery! 84watts 25r

So enormous builds aren't always the best. It's getting the happy medium. I've seen the 30mm buddhas with 4-5wraps, no fancy claptons, just standard kanthalnor flatwire and they fire like hell, produce enormous clouds and flavour!! :) less time building, more time vaping! Try some SS 317L flatwire if you can get it maybe, great surface area. 6 wraps at 0.15ohms roughly dual coil. I caped that for weeks on my series Tesla at around 140watts all day long! So cool!!

Stainless Steel, that's where it's at. Faster ramp up and cool down with the benefit of better flavor. My go to is 317L SS Fused Claptons, use 28g inner core with 36g or 38g wrapping wire. Also with 30mm devices I build hotter due to the larger chamber.

one day you should give NiFe a try. I'm hoping it becomes popular enough that we get fancy nife coils. It's a better version of SS IMO for both watts and temp mode

Looks like a high nickle content, I'm not a fan of nickle. While SS has a small amount of nickle I'm OK with that, but looks like NiFe has much more.

It's nickel and Iron mix. works really well. I hate Ni200 wire myself, this is a whole different ball game. It's basically equal to SS in watt mode and much better then SS in temp control mode

I may try it "if" it doesn't have a high Nickel content. As for TC, don't use it so that's a moot point with me.

Can you use it the nife in normal wattage mode? I'm using nich n80 at moment and love it

Nife 52 is about half nickel

you allergic to nickel?
Nope, just don't like poking the hornets nest with Nickel. 317L SS I'm happy with, with my series mods and 22-25mm devices I'll use Kanthal. I tried nichrome, didn't like the taste. So I just stick with SS and Kanthal

I never had nichrome. SS taste much better then kenthal IMO but the low resistance is a killer on mechs. I think Nife has a higher resistance and has a really good taste. SS317 has the highest resistance of them all. Nife has a lower resistance then SS at the start but it climbs up quickly. I wouldn't use it on a mech though.

My sweet spot is a 30x2/36 317L SS fused Clapton around 0.2 Ohms. Very, very nice on my Mech's. Right now I've got a 0.16 build with 28x2/36 in my VGod on my Nookie, awesome Vape.

I'm not gonna build lower then .3 for my mech so it would be nice to get a series mech lol
Only way i'd build that low is with a 4 18650 mod (HOG i guess) using LG HB6 batts in series/paralell. that gives 45 amps so .18 is the lowest safe limit and 378 watts

Only Series Mech I'll use SS on is my VCP Big Pig, with a 30mm device and using either 32g or 30g core 317L I'll build it down to 0.45 or 0.5. Lot's of room for fatty coils in a 30mm device. With my other Series Mech's with a 22-24mm device I use Kanthal and build around 0.6-0.8. That is unless I'm using a Series deck like on my Wismec Neutron, UWell Rafele X or the Modfather with the Series Deck. Then I'll pop in SS

You can safely vape a Tube mod at a .15 on most authentic 20a CD cells and the batteries dont even get warm. Think less about resistance and more about coil mass...as long as you are checking to see if your batteries arent hot to the touch you do not have anything to worry about...

thats why i need a series deck now lol. i couldn't get my "safe" SS builds to fit in teh modfather's chamber lol

@TexasVaping1991 Your original question of to build new or not to build is not a question you should ask often. You should build new and build new often. Yes is does knock up cost on wire, but on the building side, you won't know how it works till you try, honestly I haven't had a build last over two weeks before I rip it out and build something else.

I currently use a 3 core fused ss 28/36 I didn't like how it changed resistance because at 100 watts the first hit or two sucked then it was good but if I turned it up the first hit or 2 would be good then it would be too hot. So what I did was stage it with 24g kanthal. Now it's amazing. Point of the story is maybe try staging your fused with something to help heat it up faster. If all else you'll find out you don't like it and then build something else. No harm no foul. Just remember to be careful and use proper batteries.

Yep, love the series deck. I also have the Rafale X, was great until Wismec came out with the Neutron on the RDA side.

But yes as soon as you see the series deck available I highly recommend picking up at least two so you can have one as a backup.

Tubes have their place, I really like my 26650 tubes for my 30mm devices. Now that the iJoy 26650 is out they have given them a new life, 30a, 4200 MaH and the performance is awesome. When ever I see Mooch rant about a battery I don't even think about it.

yup. i got 8 of the ijoys on the way now. ordered 4 from mad vapes since slowtech takes forever and 4 form slowtech. my lux comes in today though but i don't have great batteries for it yet lol.

I don't do RDAs as much anymore either. I'm on an RTA kick. i will pick up a couple of series decks and a couple of postless decks once they get in stock
