Top white washer fell off my 18650

Hey All!

I purchased the battery (Samsung INR 25R - the green ones) from Wake and Vape in October. Yesterday, the top white washer (plasticy thingy) fell off.

Safe to use or best to toss?

If my description didn't make sense - let me know and I'll post some pics.

Yes, those will work and yes, they are necessary to avoid shorts.

But if the insulator fell off you're going to want to re-shrinkwrap the battery if it's damaged at all. okay, I'm leaving now

And why would you leave because of the thread title? You gave good advice in the link. I'm certainly no "expert," but if it's something I know a little something about, I'm surely gonna advise.
I'm saving that link, btw, just in case. Thanks!

Re-wrap that thing and if your wrap was so torn up that the insulator fell off they should have been re-wrapped long before that happened.

A 20A battery is not something you want to short out.

The battery will need to be rewrapped before continued use.

You can get wraps from Fasttech for next to nothing. Get some from Lightning Vapes for now, but I like to buy quantity from FT to stock up.

Less than $2 for 50-100....yeah, it's the way to go.

There is also Battwrap, it's not as cheap but they are in the US and you only have to wait a week for stuff. Anything coming from FT will be a bit unless you get lucky where they are about to start the new year which shuts them down for a long time. I have a few things coming for FT and it seems like it has already come to a crawl.

Should still be good for now but in a week or so I would imagine things will get real tide up. Mine finally showed some movement. I am ordering two Billow V2's tonight and hoping they clear there before Chinese New Year starts since it can take a while to clear their shipping.
