When I need or just plain want a new mod or tank, like most of us here I check out the companies based in and shipping from China and have found some really good deals.

I have also gotten into the habit that when I need things for the home like small kitchen appliances, I will also check places like www.aliexpress.com, www.dhgate.com, and www.rakuten.com.

So far the very best way to track these shipments I have found is to use 17TRACK http://www.17track.net/en

It will show you when the tracking number has been created when it has been physically accepted by the local post office and so on and so forth. It will also link you to USPS so you can set up tracking and alerts once your package has made it out of US customs.

Yesterday I noticed that they had an app available so you can get alerts on your PC or mobile device every time the package changes status as it makes it's way from China to your mailbox. And for some strange reason, the app gives more detailed information than tracking via the website does. Granted that some of that information arrives in Chinese but the app lets you translate to English.

I have been using 17TRACK for about a year and I have been well pleased.
