If you're tired of certain devices' spring-loaded connectors constantly damaging the wraps when your eject the batteries (box mods or chargers, typically), here's a trick:

Nifty trick but what did you use on the battery.

I think he is asking what did you put on the battery that you're pulling on in the vid.

Well, pull-down tabs made of Scotch tape: you pull the tab, it compresses the mod's spring-loaded connector and releases the other end of the battery without any friction. That's the trick :)

I really like this concept but I am wondering if it wouldn't be better designed as
a charger addition rather than a battery addition.

I have mods that fit batts kinda tightly and wouldn't fit with tape on the batteries.

But if you used the same concept, applying the tape (or sumpin) to the charger instead of the battery...... :)

It's just for those devices that require you to eject the battery with a tab, shake the battery out or otherwise forcibly remove it, and that have a pin that damages the wrap when it passes over it.

Normally I try to grab the battery and remove it cleanly. Most mods let you do that, but not all of them. If you have enough room in the mod for the extra thickness of a couple layers of scotch tape (it adds 0.1 - 0.2 mm to the diameter) then this works. I keep sets of taped up batteries just for those problematic mods.

On my charger, which have two bays that are too close together to grab the batteries properly when all four bays are full, I have a piece of string attached to the sliding contacts to release the batteries. Of course, that's always better than sticking tape on the batteries themselves. But in a mod, you can't do that for lack of space.

@Giraut Do you tape it over the contact and cut out the top so the contact is without tape? I have a few mods like that. One would think the tape would have to be on the other side as well to insure strength to remove them. (If that makes sense)

Also, I have 3 batts that have small nics on the bottom. Should they be wrapped?
