I'm new to diy and have 3 flavors to start me off with. I've seen so many recipes my eyes are crossed lol! Please give me a few ideas for what I'm after which is a strawberry/banana custard and a banana custard. My flavors I have to work with are: CAP strawberries and crea m, vanilla custard v1and TFA banana cream. I've read 20% total flavor is too much but that seems the norm. I've also read 10% of vc is too much yet that seems standard. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated! @wllmc you're a caps vc guru, what are your suggestions?

Start off lower than you think .. you can always add a drop or two as you go. Don't forget to allow for steeping.. taste a mix as soon as it's made .. then again in a day 2,3,4, etc .. some flavors don't work for me for at least a week or two ... others are good right away.

personally I make something like you are wanting using 8-10% vc by CAP and then add about 4% or 5% Banana Creme and shake real good and taste. The VC will need to steep in it for at least probably a week unless you speed steep it using hot water and more shaking, etc I never use less than 10% VC in my custard reciptes but peoples tastes vary and some use less. Since it is not a complex mix I use it at 10%. If I were using more flavors than 2, I would tone down the VC a little.

I agree Game Over Custard (mamaJ's) is a great mix. All you add is nic and base to it.
mix it at 14% for best results.
Good luck...

You won't beat Game Over from Mama J's for custard, but Caps is a good second. My favorite banana cream is from DIY Flavor Shack, such a rich, creamy banana flavor. Strawberry is questionable, no matter who makes it, but I like to mix different brands. A 2:1 mix of TFA and FA strawberry makes a nice berry flavoring. Add Caps sweet strawberry for more sweetness.
