Hi I recently upgraded to a Kangertech EMOW from a EVOD. Now with the EVOD I got long draws that I was able to inhale deep and get lots of vapor. Now with the EMOW (using the same juice) I can only take small draws and cant inhale deep without coughing. Even with small draws I have a hard time not coughing. I use the 3.7 volt setting on the EMOW which I beleive is the same voltage as the EVOD. The EMOW has a setting where you can play with the amount of air coming into the vaporizer, I tried everything from little air to lots of air and it makes no difference. I also sneeze a lot now as well. Maybe I developed an allergy to PG I am not sure.

Any ides? I want to get back to enjoying vaping with my EMOW.

Did you thoroughly wash the new tank when you got it?

My first thought is that your new tank might have a lower resistance coil which would give you a hotter vape. Do you know the resistance of your current coil vs the evod coil? Does the juice taste different or is it just harsher?

Have you tried to see if there is a difference between the vape you get on the low setting compared to the high setting?

It could be that there is something wrong with the one you got and the settings are not working properly so you are getting a higher output than you are telling the device to give you.

I don't know the ohm of the coils I was using with the evod. I used to just go to my vape store and ask for a new coil, I am not sure what they gave me. The manual for the emow says limit is required between 1.5ohm and 3.3 ohm. I am not sure what coils it came with. The juice is harsher with the emow, and tastes more powerful flavor but less burnt taste. I was thinking maybe it is vaporizing more pg and I maybe I am allergic to that because I am sneezing. But still I can't inhale as deep. I try to draw it into my mouth before inhaling but that does not help.

I tried the different voltages and I find the 3.7 is the least harsh compared to the 4.2 and 4.8. But they all make me cough. Also the battery gets hot when I vape continuously for 3-5 mins. Maybe there is something wrong?

I sneeze when the vape is too hot. Im sure it warmer than you are used to. I was solely using 1.8 then when i got on the 1.5. if it is a kanger coil, it will be printed on the side of the coil. Do you taste a burnt flavor in it?

Ah! this is your first tank with adjustable air....it is a huuuuge difference, take mouth hits at first. Pull the vape into your mouth, then inhale it, the vape is a lot hotter when you add air into the equation....when i first got the aerotank i almost fell off my chair lol. Mouth hits till you get comfortable.

The evod coil is a 1.8 and the emow is a 1.5. I only tasted the burnt with the evod but the battery would get hot faster on the evod. Can I buy a 1.8 for the emow, do you think that would help?

Oh so maybe I'll adjust to the emow after while? I do find mouth hits more mellow and I usually let a bit of vapor out of my mouth before I inhale.

On occasion, my Vamo will get slightly warm sometimes when I am chain vaping. But your battery getting hot is not good. You may have an issue with the battery.

Or they gave you a lower resistance coil than you are used to.

yes, the little wee baby air holes on the other tank you started with , are killers lol, cause when you start taking air into the equation its a whole nother story, and yes, you can get 1.8 coils to go into your new tank, will be more mellow and good flavor.

Yeah with the evod it was getting really hot so I bought a new battery and that one was getting hot as well so I brought the new battery back and bought the emow. Maybe its just me, what are the chances getting 3 defective batteries. I just started vaping 3 weeks ago and the evod was my first vaporizer. The batteries get really hot, it seems like maybe the coil is the culprit and making the whole thing hot.

Yeah I will try the 1.8 and see how that works.

Thanks everyone for helping me so far, I am learning a lot!

when you first start vaping you will be using it sparingly, as you start to enjoy it more, you will start using your device more often, which we call chain vaping, it will get hot, make sure to let it cool off now and again =)

Just out of curiosity, what % of PG are you using? I just wonder if you have a high percentage with a lower ohm coil and higher voltage could be the reason for a hard hitter.

Also higher nic levels will hit harder too.

Also, my brother just learned how to vape, I say learned because he was inhaling wrong and couldn't stop coughing, I told him the way to vape is slightly (for me) different than smoking, pull in the vapor first before inhaling it and he tried that and it worked, he no longer tries to inhale on the draw like cigarettes..

Could just be a bad coil with hot spots.

Yup I have become a chain vapor for sure, I could do it all day.

50/50. Do you think lower ohm could vaporize more pg and I may be allergic?
Also higher nic levels will hit harder too.
I started with 18-24mg with the evod and that worked for me. I liked the hard hit from 24mg. Now with the emow its just harsh.

I started vaping with lung hits but now I draw it into my mouth before inhaling. This is not the issue here though as I had no issues with the evod.

I tried two coils so far same issue with both.

I don't think there's anything really "wrong". Just that you using a different device and it will vape differently.

I have only been vaping for a little less than a year, but I started on a TS3 with an EGO stick and 2.2 coils. When I went to 1.8 coils there was a difference and I choked a little. Same when I went to an EVOD, mechanical drip and recently purchased an Aerotank mega. Every time I had to change my vaping style or I would cough.

Its really just a learning curve IMO.

I went and checked out the emow, its basically an aerotank with 1.5 dual coils, where as the evod had a 1.8 single coil. The 1.5 with a higher voltage setting and 24mg nic,I would be hacking a lot! I have a few juices that are 12mg,and mostly I buy 6mg now,my wife still uses 24mg and if I pick her tank up it will take my breath.I wouldn't think you are pg sensitive, signs are usually sore throat, respiratory irritation, severe headaches, and nausea.I think Blakejohn pretty much nailed it.

Advice taken for sure. I will continue to learn. Thanks.

I guess it comes down to getting my nicotine fix. I don't necessarily come into this game as an ex smoker exactly. I quit smoking Colt cigars 4 years ago and switched to nicotine gum. During the past 4 years I would occasionally buy a pack of Colts and smoke the pack(8) in one day, and then feel like shit. Back to the gum I would go. I really enjoy smoking (except for the stink and headaches) that is why I started vaping. With the gum I was chewing 25 - 2mg pieces a day. I guess I have to find a strength that works for me. I really enjoyed the 24mg of a certian juice I tried in my evod. I may try that in my emow but I am out right now. I will try a lower strength maybe soon. It's just with the juice going for $20CA it is costly to make a mistake. I am intrigued by the pure VG juice.

I quit smoking four years ago,but I switched to dipping snuff,I started vaping to get away from that.I haven't had any dip in 2-3 months now,so i'm just vaping away to get my nic fix myself!I understand your dilemma with guessing on juice when it costs so much,if you have a local shop that you can sample from that would help with your choices. As far as the pure VG you're going to need a dripper for that, they don't do too well in tanks. You could probably get away with a 70vg/30pg to maybe a 80vg/20pg mix in a tank.

Congrats on staying away from dipping!

The owner at my local shop is a really good guy. He has been a big help so far for me. They have quite a few sample tanks that you can screw to the batteries there and sample. They probably have 30 different samples. It is really busy at his shop so its hard to get at the samples. The owner said I should bring a coffee next time and sample more. They have chairs there so maybe I'll just hang out and sample as much as I can. Trying out different strengths and flavors is something I need to spend time on. He said I could sample pure vg last time I spoke to him on facebook, so I'll start picking his brain on the pg/vg issue. It may all be in my head at this point that I am pg sensitive.

The coffee will be good to cleanse your palette between flavors, sounds like you have a pretty good shop to go to.I usually come out with a buzz when I go in for sampling!lol

I have the same trouble and have not used any different settings, different coils, different juices and I REALLY clean my hardware between juices even if they are the same. I am interested in this subject as well. I loved my vaping until I started with the coughing and gagging fits every time I used my vape. Thank you for all of the help and suggestions The scary thing is that it happened and it had made me wonder if I could vape ever again. It happened so suddenly and I even changed up the way I inhaled and did emptied out the all of the juices, cleaned every thing, changed all filters and Cleaned all hardware, glassware, threads. Then I set my VV/VW Properly, I was only then able to (30 mins ago) vape easily! I just need to check the rest of my equipment. Thanks to everyone for asking the question and then those who responded and helped out!

Yes in my experience it is the hotter vaper, you will grow accustomed to it even loved it, but my sub ohm tank produces very hot vapor and i experienced the same issue at first but its okay!
