Just discovered this forum while doing some research on tanks and thought I'd post my question here as well for some additional opinions.

I've been vaping for over a year now. I've been using Aspire for a majority of that time, but I'm starting to get irritated with the problems on my Nautilus. It's been leaking quite a lot and I'm having to change the coils pretty much every 3 days. I don't think it wicks properly. I even tried the Triton coils, but they aren't any better in my experience. I've pretty much tried everything to make it work right. So, I'm hoping you guys may be able to help me out in deciding on something new.
  • I vape 50/50 dark juice (Black Clove to be specific)
  • I've been using either 1.6 or 1.8 ohm coils
  • I've got two iStick 30's. Would prefer a tank that will fit on these, but I'm opening to buying new ones. I really like having a backup for when the first one dies.
  • I'm a mouth to lung vaper
  • I like a cool vape. I purchased an Aspire Atlantis but the vape was too warm and I couldn't handle it, so I wasted that money already.
  • I do enjoy some clouds, but I don't want to look like a locomotive.
I'm hoping I can find something that fits all of these things. Thought about a rebuild-able, but I'm not sure I'm ready for something like that. I was looking at something made by Kanger, but I don't want to keep wasting money. I've already purchased:
  • 2 Kanger Protank Mini 2's
  • 2 Aspire Nautilus Mini's
  • 2 Aspire Nautilus (decided I wanted the larger tank)
  • Aspire Atlantis
I'd appreciate any advice you can give! :)

Joyetech Cubis tank is more up your preference for low wattage and great taste.

Might want to check out the isub s. Has top fill adjustable airflow for mtl and a 2 ohm coil that would prob trip your trigger.

The dark juice, especially clove, is the reason for having to change coils that often!

Thanks! I was actually considering that one. Just wish it was available at MtBakerVapor since that's where I usually get all my juice/equipment. Would I be ok with the iStick 30 or should I look into something else if I went with the Cubis?

I thought about that, but it's only been happening since I upgraded to the Nautilus from the Mini. I bought a second Nautilus in hopes that the one I got was just defective. I have been noticing that when I go to prime my coils, some of the holes are not wicking the juice. Usually I drop liquid in each until its almost stopped absorbing, pretty much right before it would start leaking out on my hand. With the most recent one, only one of the holes would absorb the liquid. I feel like the Aspire coils are becoming even more inconsistent, but that may just be me :\

Thank you! I'm also going to look more into this. The 2.0 seems to be a little harder to find. I do like the larger capacity on it, though.

It might help to prick it with a needle a few times. That's what I heard people doing with the Kanger Subtank coil heads, when they were having wicking problems.

There's also the apex there's a 3 ml version that would prob have better flavor. I know capacity is an issue with you but with top fill it makes filling a breeze. I recently got the diablo that only has 2ml capacity and is dual coil. I have to refill alot but with how easy it is and the crazy flavor def worth it. Just my 2 cents.

Vapor beast will have the 2.0 coils. I bought the coils hoping I would like them. I didn't but YMMV . I didn't care for the loud sound of the coil. I have been using a Nautilus for 3 years and no problems at all. I use the triton mini coils (clapton) I do however make my own e-liquid.

Hi Zabashai! You might want to look at Beyond Vape Silo (not the Beast) tank. It is 5mL capacity, uses Aspire Nautilus BVC coils and gives a more airy draw than the Nautilus tanks. I use it on all of my mods (Snow Wolf Mini, iStick 30 and 40W, evic mini vtc) and it works great on all. It was just recently on sale at Beyond Vape site, and may still be (think it was less than $30?). I vape MTL, but like cool, airy draws and use 50/50 up to 70vg/30pg in mine with no problems. My coils (1.8 ohm) last an average of 5-7 days, but have had them last almost 2 weeks, and I go through 15-20 mL a day! I do vape a clear, very clean burning juice though. This is a sturdy SS tank made in collaboration between Beyond Vape and Aspire and I LOVE it!! Been using mine for over a year now, and though I've tried other tanks I keep coming back to my Silo, and have bought a few for back-up. I hope this helps, good luck finding something you love!

Wanted to add, I've never had my Silo leak or flood. I throw my mod in my purse and it has laid on it's side in there for hours without one drop leaking! :)

Can't go without mentioning the Subtank Mini. Use the RBA head, dry-burn and re-wick when you need to. Easy RBA head to work on, easy to wick, make simple coils that you can get an MTL vape from.

When you prime the coil drop about 5 drops on the inside of the coil's cotton not the outside holes, then wait until the cotton in the holes gets wet. The outside cotton at the holes is just a paper thin piece of cotton. You may not be getting full saturation of the coil when you prim it.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I went with the Cubis/eVic VTC Mini. To me, the flavor is absolutely amazing. I never got that kind of flavor out of my Nautilus. And the cyan looks amazing, one of my favorite colors. Refilling can get a little messy, but the top fill is nice.

A day later, right back to the same issues I had before. My coils are lasting a single day. I've got two soaking in Vodka (no idea if it will make them usable again), but I decided to open up the third one. Forgive me for basically destroying it, I haven't ever opened one up. I believe that black gunk is my problem...

I can't stop vaping Black Clove, but I decided to order another bottle without my normal 2-4 flavor shots in it hoping this won't happen so fast. Guessing it's the sweetener in it. Would moving to the RBA be a better idea?

Absolutely. The darker the juice the more it will gunk up. High sugar juices will do it also.

The nautilus is an excellent clearo. As a long time dark liquid vaper I known the issues.
Up the pg to 60 or 70%.. This will be thinner. Also, remember pg gives more flavor, vg more vapor. Finding the mix that gives the most enjoyment is the goal. So you may not need the extra flavoring, therefore your coils may not gunk up so fast. Fix your juice
