The Vaping Industry is in a DIRE Situation, and We REALLY Need Your Help!
SBX2-5 has passed in California. This bill would treat vaping hardware and e-juices as tobacco products. This would eliminate online sales, eliminate the ability to sample e-liquids at your local vape shop, raise the vaping age to 21-years-old, and add an insane amount of taxes for all vaping products. It would essentially destroy the vaping industry.
You may think that your voice will not be heard, but believe us it WILL! The Governor can still veto this bill, and will be inclined to do so if enough people call.
PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO SUPPORT OUR INDUSTRY, AS IT IS IN GRAVE DANGER AT THE MOMENT!!!

I would like to express my deep concern over SBX2-5 that recently passed. This bill would have horrible consequences on many levels. First, it would present an immense barrier for smokers who are seeking an alternative to cigarettes. Although there are no definitive tests that have yet been conducted by the FDA, several comprehensive studies, such as the one administered by Public Health England (PHE), have demonstrated that electronic cigarettes are 95% less harmful than analog cigarettes. To frustrate the ability of smokers to readily access electronic cigarettes, particularly online, would be a grave disservice to the citizens of California.
SBX2-5 would also detriment one of the, if not the, most rapidly-growing area of the economy—vaping and electronic cigarettes. Products are being manufactured and sold within the United States, which is particularly important given the constant reduction in the manufacturing sector of the United States. Thousands upon thousands of jobs will be eliminated as a result of this bill. Countless families will suffer along with the economy.
Allowing SBX2-5 to materialize would be damaging to many businesses, in addition to those within the vaping industry. The elimination of these companies would affect landlords who rent space to vaping companies, packaging supply companies they purchase from, utility companies, office supply companies, bottle and container manufactures, shipping carriers, and an endless array of others.
I strongly urge you to veto this ludicrous bill. Although some level of oversight is needed and welcomed, unnecessarily drastic measures such as SBX2-5 will do nothing more than damage an already fragile economy, and hinder the ability of smokers to find a safer alternative.
